I went to this cafe and very whitely asked if I could eat McDonald’s there. They said no, I immediately complained to my husband who is always white. The servant was standing before me as we discussed her impertinence as if she didn’t even exist. We then ordered our food and immediately our children (who were jumping on their chairs and tables but of course are beyond reproach) began to eat their McDonald’s while we sat on their couch. We entered into a deep discussion about how unhappy we were with their no McDonald’s in our restaurant policy while completely disregarding it. During this time our kids started to destroy their garden a flower at a time while we were too deep into complaining to even notice, and you wouldn’t even believe it but the owner came out and RUDELY YELLED AT US TO WATCH OUR KIDS like we were nobodies! OF COURSE we didn’t apologise we were gearing up for round two where obviously, we stormed in and demanded they apologise for their rudeness. When they didn’t and instead refunded us we told our mother, who immediately called them repeatedly until they called us back. We are grown adults in our 30s and 40s but our mother deemed it prudent to call on our behalf and threaten to tell the police we assaulted them unless we apologised to her despite her not being there. The impudence of these people - they refused. THEN they had the audacity to say that WE were the ones out of line. Naturally, our mother told them that her sons own a hunting and fishing company (guy brothers hunting and fishing) and they would come down and teach them some manners. While they were taking this call and having threats hurled at them one of us decided things had gone too far. One of us (Jody) returned to the store and while the owner was on the phone being threatened with gun violence started to motion to us frantically to hang up. The owner whispered what? Jody pleaded with her to hang up and when she did, Jody was explained the mother in law in unhinged and has a tendency to blow out fights with people, that she is crazy and doesn’t represent them. Once they hung up, they discussed both point of views and Jody apologised and left. Then the nasty reviews online started and they were fabiratcions designed to make the shop look bad, because we cannot accept we were in the wrong obviously. The owners have criminally trespassed us can you even believe it?...
Read moreIt was a lovely halfway point for a quick cuppa. I didn't actually eat anything just had a cup of tea. It wasn't the usual lady behind the counter who is very nice. The young lady behind the counter before we were about to order said "oh by the way the kitchen is closed" (we didn't mind as we were just stopping for a break). But it was the way she said it, it sounded quite rude. So I ordered a tea for 1 and the young lady says "oh is that all?". I would like to point out that my sister was driving and this is where she stops all the time, my sister wouldn't keep going to this cafe when traveling through if it wasn't a nice place to stop at. So I think maybe the young lady that served us was either new or had a tiring day, I hope she isn't rude like I felt she was to me to all her customers. Just maybe if she'd gone that extra mile she would have gotten the cafe a...
Read moreCalled in to the 'cafe' for the first time on Sunday with a friend (we are both Bus Drivers) Absolutely disappointed with the attitude to gluten free customers. Gluten free dairy free mixed thru the cabinet with a cross contamination mess, clearly none of the staff understand basic food handling skills. The very predominant sign taped to your cabinet about not being a total gluten free kitchen is just utter arrogance. You make no effort at all to accommodate information to allergy customers. Customer service was pretty much non existent on Sunday the coffee was weak and tasteless, plus waiting for 10 mins to receive what was supposed a wrapped sandwich just not good enough. My friend often stops his tours at your establishment however I wont be, ever ,and I can not recommend this cafe at all to anyone...
