We had a great stay with friendly and informative hosts . Very peaceful location with very comfy room and great bathroom. Great attractions nearby and we filled in 5 nights stay easily. Continental breakfast was quite adequate and the coffee was great. Loved the rural setting and the bird life in the surrounds. Thanks John and Kay for your hospitality.

This place is my kinda "slice of nz" Set in the most beautiful Native Bush, with hosts that will go above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. Being lucky enough to be a part of a bridal party spending our night/day before the wedding with 1 nervous bride, while the other bride stayed in Matamata. Slight problem when arrived to discover the driveway has been recently concreted and couldn't get some of the bridal cars down the driveway. But we worked around it. The car that ould make it, even got a wash by the hosts while we were getting ready. The owners are lovely people, real people.. I'm not a huge fan of dogs in the house, but respect their house and their dogs are their family, and they where very "obedient " And Not allowed in your rooms..🙂 Fantastic place and people Would recommend to all Anytime of the year And yes the breakfast was Devine.. Thank you...

It’s not often that a place you stay at ticks all the boxes, theres always something wrong or a bit weird, but not here. The Breakfast provided (with home made elements and local produce from growers markets) was excellent, the beds and pillows were great and super comfy (this is something I often find disappointing at hotels) , and the bathrooms were just like a 5 star luxury hotel. John and Kay + their friendly dogs were the perfect hosts, and in a way it was like staying with friends. They provided a cot and high chair for our 9 month old baby, plus made the main area safe for him to roam around in (and tolerated his yelling throughout the night) The surrounding bushland and the serenity emanating from it cannot be accurately described, just book a few nights here and experience it...

Recently had occasion to attend a national sporting event in Cambridge. Finding a booking close was difficult, but we did find this delightful property some 12kms out of town. ||And weren't we glad we did! Tucked away just off the main highway but in a quiet no exit road surrounded by trees and bush full of native birds, this is a quiet, clean and accessible haven.||Our hosts made us most welcome but did leave us space for quiet time etc.||Would we book again - In a flash! Better value and comfort than the usual accommodation options. Plenty of sightseeing opportunities abound in relative closeness to this property. And the owners were a font of knowledge as they had personally experienced them all it seems.||Do put this on your list when next visiting...
