We had three nights at a non powered camp site. Had great experiences - laid back and nature oriented. What we liked - free to use bbq, kayaks and spades (for hot water beach). brushes, dishwashing liquid and tea towels for campers to use in kitchen, seating area with good shade, spacious shower cubicle, birds watching from our tent, generous sized camp site, helpful and very friendly staff. We love that the place is small and a bit more personal than most camp grounds. The only thing we didn't appreciate was our neighbour site staying up late talking with music. Would be great if 10:30 or 11 pm curfew was reinforced for other campers to sleep. Overall, a great place to get away for a family and we will definitely come back with more friends.

Had the extreme good fortune to park my caravan here during the glorious weather - in the week leading up to Easter 2021. Initially planning to stay one, maybe two nights, ended up staying four. The view from this camp ground location is stunning. Staff are relaxed, helpful and friendly, same for the locals. The view is into the south and east of Kawhia Harbour. The sunsets light the north and west facing hills. There a a few loungers right on the water front for reflection and relaxation. and Kawhia is not boring, final resting place for the Tainui canoe for starters !!! I personally enjoyed the seven to eight km bike ride through the pine forest to the beach.

Just wonderful Booked a campsite for 3 nights but on arrival the weather turned hideous. They were super kind and let us change our booking despite having other guests. They were so helpful to accommodate us and let us be a pain, moving all around the place The facilities are very clean and well looked after. Rooms are great and it was lovely having a dry place to sleep on a nice bed. Spa pool is great rain or shine! We left before we could thank you guys properly, so thank you so much for making what could have been a bit of a miserable situation so lovely and memorable. Can't recommend this place enough, for sure we will be back!

Arrive on Friday 16th February,2024 afternoon about 3.30pm chap that was suppose to be in the office wasn't there I was just about to leave after spending 10 minutes waiting for the manager to turn up told who I was he said I have put you close to ablutions block as I have a disability set my tent up, went for walk around to see what was available. Thought I would have early night going to sleep early as I had a long drive out to Kawhia but I had second thoughts along the front close to sea was a bunch of fisherman there for the weekend they were going out 6am Saturday morning on a boat fishing trip well they the chaps started drinking they drank to some godly hour like about 2am Saturday morning no one made any attempt to go and tell they were making to much noise as the sign on the wall said NO NOISE AFTER 10.PM well they must have drunk themselves to sleep because I was up early and they had gone walked down to wharf to catch there boat out all day fishing arrived back at 4pm and guess what happened they were back on the booze, noise not as much as Saturday/Sunday morning but the site there bottles, empty, cardboard boxes ,cans ,every where no one made the effort to clean it up but latter that evening chaps made the effort to clean up there site it seems some one did tell to clean up there site.I will not be returning again to thIs holiday camp as I thought that camp manager would have gone and told them to quieten down but nothing. The abulations block was clean, as was kitchen lady was there cleaning all that area was clean as toilets and showers all ok but it was just the noise from ten blokes and nothing was done to curb the noise loud talking and laughing. I paid $60 for 3 nights but after the 2 nights of loud taking I decided to move out I was on holiday didn't want all that noise and the office manager didn't even...

Our stay at Kawhia Beachside Scape Holiday Park was the quintessential kiwi camping experience! Four days of perfect weather in a contained campground that had everything on offer. Spacious waterfront sites, modern, large well-equipped kitchen including crockery, clean his/her bathrooms with roomy showers (l appreciated all the hooks on which to hang my clothes), cabins that look over the sea or a grassed central courtyard with BBQ and seating.

We kayaked, went bike riding, swam at high tide, drove to Hot Water Beach with our spades. Wrong tide so we boogie boarded instead. Bliss - had the entire beach to ourselves. Stopped off for rum and raisin ice reams from the Kawhia General Store. The guys went fishing 🎣 (eternal thanks Conrad) and returned with an impressive haul of Snapper and scallops. On our last night bought Fish 'n Chips from the pub which we ate down by the Harbour. We had a fabulous four days which was largely due to having chosen the perfect campground. It was large enough to offer the facilities needed but at the same time small enough where campers spoke to each other - very much a sense of community. This does not happen by chance. Conrad (camp owner), is a legend. So helpful, obliging, and always working to make the campers' experience the best it can possibly be. At the same time he is chilled and self-effacing. Conrad, MASSIVE thanks to you and your team and how could we not return to your slice of heaven. Phil & Liesbet Gavey Loes...

We had an incredible stay at Kawhia Beachside Scape – hands down one of the best experiences we've had as a family while travelling! Conrad was absolutely amazing: warm, kind, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for. The accommodation was perfect for our group. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortably fit all of us with room for our luggage. The beds were super comfy with thick, warm blankets that kept us cosy despite the cold Kawhia weather (we're from Western Australia, so it was very chilly for us!). There was a heater in the room originally and Conrad kindly added small heaters in both rooms – even though we didn’t end up needing them, it just shows how thoughtful and attentive he was. The toilets and showers were spotless, and the hot water and pressure were perfect – especially appreciated in the cold! The communal kitchen was clean and well-equipped, and the entire property was peaceful, tidy, and beautifully maintained. We had such a relaxing and enjoyable time and felt so welcomed throughout our stay. We’re already planning to book again for our next family holiday – this time a bigger crew of us. We truly couldn’t recommend Kawhia Beachside Scape more highly. Thank you again for making our stay so...
