Kerry Lane Motel — Hotel in North Island

Well ..Firstly..AS SOON AS I GOT INTO THE APARTMENT...IT WAS LIKE...""IM INSIDE AN OVEN "..OR IN A 😓 desert !!I went all around the apartment looking for aircon....but...Trust me....NONE...SO I am actually going through menopause...and I WAS VERY 😡 upset ..I knew this very moment....""I WONT SLEEP IN THIS HEAT TONIGHT ..hot flush n then the apartment was really really 🔥 HOT...THE temp yesterday was as high as 30°c...I have pictures as evidence ..on the Facebook community page about the temp last night or yesterday..I KEPT ON Taking short cold showers in order to get ":some'""Sleep..But yes ..It was a long frustrating night for me..Secondly..at 11.00pm..to 1135pm.WE HAD NO WIFI...I HAD TO EMAIL .TRIP.COM..SO AFTER 25MINS ...THE WIFI WAS TURNED BACK ON...THIRDLY...fleas in ALL BEDDINGS...WE TOOK OFF THE BEDDNGS ..N SLEPT ON THE FLOOR..Because on the bed..the fleas were biting n I brought sheets from home .. which I always do whenever I go to any hotel ..N used it to spread it ontop just to lay down on it...Well apart from all these ..everything else was fine ...But yes ..I would NEVER BOOK ACCOMODATION without aircon ...I cannot imagine ..how is it possible 🤔 esp in an area such as taranaki ...with so much heat ...n NO AIRCON...WELL THATS ALL ..U can see the photos...it's telling u..the temperature. I'm.. NOT the only one ..who felt the heat ...It's NOT JUST ABOUT MY MENOPAUSE...THE TEMP DURING SUMMER IS UNTOLERABLE...

I've given 3 stars as the lady in the office was nice, friendly and really helped us out of a bind when a different motel we'd booked that night cancelled our accommodation last minute due to some tradespeople not finishing a job in time. This place would be really great if it were cleaner and the vertical blinds were updated to curtains, so the light outside the neighbouring building didn't shine straight in the bedrooms all night. You couldn't get changed in the rooms that had these blinds, they didn't come together tight enough. The linen had other people's hairs on it, really gross. Dirty dishes in the cupboards that we had to clean before using anything. Cobwebs in corners, dirty kitchen table. There was a metal scraping sound outside our room all night in the wind, so not a lot of sleep had before the 6.30am rooster started crowing on the property. The kids loved the farm aspect, so as I say, with a few tweaks, this place would be really good. But $230 for the 4 of us was too high for...

Nice for the relative peace and farm animals. The Wi-Fi is non existent. Torture by water drip noises in the night from the toilet. We had to hang towels over the glass doors to try to block out the outside light. We booked a room and paid extra for it specifically to have a room with a bath, but the bath had a whole load of hair in it, so we weren’t prepared to use it. The front office upon check in was awash with printouts of invoices and emails, I could read the bills of dozens of people, zero data protection. The room is nice enough, but the crockery is tiny, there’s a check list on the cupboard stating how many items of crockery and cutlery there are, and a notice about not stealing them. I can’t imagine anyone hard up enough to steal the crappy cutlery and crockery in this place. I’ve stayed in worse places, but all of them cost...
