Matakohe Holiday Park — Hotel in North Island

A hidden Gem. Owner was super friendly and helpful on arrival and gave us a lovely site for our caravan with a magic view overlooking country side and estuary below. Have a great playground for children. Sites are well laid out in beautiful landscaped grounds. Ablution block old but spotlessly clean. Excellent recycling bins with easy access to dump station. Five minutes from Kauri museum which is a must see and local artist gift shop. Historic church is just across the road. The little village of Paparoa is 10 minutes drive. Would highly recommend this...

Hidden gem. Excellent campground, well kept grounds and camp sites. Well stocked kitchen with pots, pans, crockery, utensils etc. Very homely feel. Nice dining and lounge area incorporated with kitchen. Good bathrooms/showers/laundry. Beautiful views. Within walking distance to Kauri Museum, Gumdiggers Cafe and historic church and school. This is a chic wee Campsite with lovely views and shady trees surrounding. The facilities are older but very clean, comfortable and cosy. Plenty of hooks in the showers and good enough pressure for a pleasant shower. Grounds are lovely and tidy and owners are helpful and pleasant. So peaceful here. Super happy that we...
