Motuoapa Bay Chalets — Hotel in North Island

100% recommend booking here if you're looking for a place in the area. We stayed in the Deluxe 2-Bedroom chalet for two nights and used it as our base to do the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. The park & drive by the park is only 45mins away and Taupo is about a 30mins drive. The chalet itself was clean, spacious, the beds were comfortable and the kitchen is very well equipped. It was also nice to have outdoor seating to enjoy the afternoon sun. We stayed there for the third time. Well-organised and clean facilities. You’ll be given clear instructions to check in so you don’t need to worry about late check in if you are driving there Friday night from Auckland. Heat pump kept us pretty warm at winter nights.
