Mystery Creek Motel — Hotel in North Island

Friendly welcome from Gary who was all too happy to go above and beyond to ensure our comfort. They've owned it for the last 2.5 years and have really put life back into the place. Its basic but its everything you need. Right across the road from the Mystery Creek events centre.

Our 2 bedroom family unit was spacious, beautifully clean and had everything we needed. Shower pressure was great. Beds were very comfy, the linens etc immaculate We didn't use the cook house but checked it out for curiosity's sake. We found it well equipped, spotlessly clean with room for a large group of people to cook and sit to eat easily without being crowded. LOVED the big macrocarpa tables!

Undercover BBQ available also. Short drive to excellent eateries. We took our boys to the Golden Dragon Chinese buffet in Leamington. It was delicious, but there are a lot of options within 15 minutes drive. Really nice little motel with owners who clearly take pride in their place and enjoy meeting their guests Clean. Comfortable. Central. Good parking. Great amenities. Would stay here again when coming back to...

I visited Hamilton at short notice this year when the rugby sevens were on - given the short notice I narrowly missed out on the last room available on booking.com in Hamilton, which was at the Mystery Creek Motel. Out of desperation I phoned Gary and Stephanie who couldn't have been more helpful and managed to find me a room (which was much appreciated as my backup plan was the back seat of my rental car!)||||The motel itself is basic, as you'd expect for the very reasonable price, but spotlessly clean and perfectly comfortable. The warm and friendly welcome from Gary and Stephanie really made it stand out, and I wouldn't hesitate to make it my first port of call next time...

Did an overnight stay here, location is beautiful. The cabin also looked nice, very tidy and well kept. The room had a mini fridge, the bathroom & toilet were also neat. However one of the towels that was kept folded on the bed was soiled and had hair on it. Kinda threw me off and felt quite uneasy about rest of the linen. It was an overnight stay so we didn’t want to create a fuss about it. The cookhouse microwave oven was quite dirty and hadn’t been cleaned in a while.
