We spent 3 nights here in a one-bedroom unit (I think unit 2, the end one of a block and furtherest from the car park area), overlooking the river and surronding bush-clad hills. Absolutely loved it. The bedroom and bathroom were upstairs, and ground level was a spacious open plan lounge/kitchen area complete with fireplace, comfy couches, large tv, and ranch slider to a private patio. Bathroom was spacious with huge glass and tile shower and separate bath. Bed was queen size but very comfortable. The unit was very clean and well-equipped. It was one of 4 in a block, and other similar blocks were placed around the property, quite a distance from each other so there was a sense of privacy and space. No road noise! The large property was quiet and peaceful, and very well kept with a resort/retreat feel to it. Everything was in excellent condition, staff were friendly and there is a very nice restaurant onsite as well, that makes superb coffees. Great parking, and the location is excellent - just out of town. This is one of those few properties where the reality matches the...
Read moreIt's a 1 bedroom apartment type motel. 1 bedroom upstairs - no wardrobe, cupboard, drawers to clothes or hang them. Bathroom upstairs still old fashioned shower which is stuck on the wall. No bath or shower gel. They gave us shampoo in small sachet - totally bad for the price paid. Good sized living room & nice fireplace, they provide wood, matches & paper to burn the smaller chipped wood to start the fire, but should also provide a fire starter for when starting a fire.. Kitchen is not equipped well enough. Has enough plates, etc, but the non stick pan(too large) has is no longer non stick - basically need a new medium sized non stick pan. Need a whisk, proper cooking utensils for a fry up. Pretty much basic. Lovely view of the river & beautiful scenery but this cannot change the negative aspects of the property. Very good staff, service given by staff members are excellent especially the Duty Manager who brought in the wood for the fire place during heavy rain. He was an...
Read moreTwo weeks ago 19 members of our family stayed here for our Bi-anual cousins reunion. This was the perfect place to stay, just out of town, plenty of room, lovely views and the 2 bed villa was perfect to use as a hub when we all wanted to gather together to eat etc. Our villa, nbr one, had gorgeous views of bush and river and we could have easily stayed a week. From start to finish, owner Andrew and Paul, manager, were so easy to deal with and bent over backwards to please us all. We all had a celebratory meal on the Saturday at Quails Restaurant which is on the property. My pork and plum sauce with veges was delicious and I highly recommend you go and try it. Andrew and his wife made and delivered to our hub, a selection of yummy pizzas and an array of desert treats on the Sunday night. We had good wifi and Sky is available too. Our bed was the best we've ever stayed in at any hotel on any of our holidays. Highly recommend One Burgess Hill for your stay in...
