Wow, you have to come here. This place is great. Fantastic scenery, fantastic atmosphere. This is New Plymouth's hidden gem of a restaurant. Are you looking for a place for that special time with a loved one? Are you needing a business lunch that will seal a deal for life time, then this is the place. Staff are great, food is fantastic, prices are so good you could eat here everyday. This is your place to come, enjoy, eat food and have awesome memories of a lifetime. 25th June went back, wow mid winter Christmas day festival. Went as a family to celebrate my mother in laws birthday. So fantastic. I met the owners. Awesome people with a heart for their community, business and people. You guys will do well.

I had been following Quails nest since before it opened. My partner and I dined on the 1st Jan 2021 the day after it opened to the public for the first time. I fell in love with it in an instant and went back several times since that day as a customer. From the carefully and lovingly thought out design of the cafe/restaurant, the decor, the house plants , smiley and friendly staff, the stunning coffee and the beautiful food. Quails Nest will become a destination place that everyone must visit. It's one of a kind and sets itself apart from so many other places in and around the city. Even just a cuppa looking at those views over the valley of the Waiwhakaiho River. You just can't beat it. ❤️

Brought Wellingtonians for lunch. Sat outside on beautiful autumn afternoon. The view is amazing. Parking easy. My son said he had the best coconut mocca ever. High praise indeed from a guy who was a barrista during uni days. I had the wellness bowl with halloumi. The breakfast and lunch menus basically let's you pick all your favourites and build your own meal plus some set items like my wellness bowl but even that had optional extras. There is cabinet food too but we ate from the menu.

Quails Nest is worth the stop for the view alone! The setting is incredible, the decor is modern, and the surroundings are so peaceful.

I really enjoyed the food, my bagel & fries were amazing. Can't wait to come back and try more.

The only thing that I didn't like were the menus. Everything else was so beautiful, which made the menu stick out like a sore thumb.

They are so plain in black and white on A4 paper inside a clear plastic slip. They need to be more compact, i.e., have separate morning and evening menus. It also needs re organizing as they are overwhelming and hard to read. It would be worth getting a designer to help with this, to make the menus as beautiful as the rest of the place!

EDIT: I have now also tried the smashed avo which I would not recommend. Its far too tangy, the flavours in the avocado are very overpowering without anything to...

For the prices of the items i would expect a bit tasty food.poached egg supposed to be runny which wasnt.it was solid.everything was fried hollomi, rosti etc.. Lamb salad comes with small diced kumara pieces fried till get dry so it was a big disappointment. Also people definetely need time to place their orders.we cant just sit and be ready. The only good thing here was the view..it was absolutely amazing. UPDATE AFTER BUSINESS RESPONSE; I wont ruin my special day by arguing why my eggs is not how it supposed to be therefore of course for the respect of my guest i am not gonna say anything, which is not my job either.i believe people should know what I experience and they should be awere of.i am professional chef, and can clearly say everything including potato rosti is not fresh, they all frozen and fried.it definetely not worth the price...

Visited the cafe with friends during a road trip after six hours on road and was disappointed by the poor service and unprofessional staff. A male staff, in particular, ignored us after taking our order, forgot the egg on one of our egg bene meal and made no effort to acknowledge his mistake. Our order was incomplete and even though he clearly saw us trying to get his attention, he avoided eye contact and kept walking away. The menu? Disjointed, needlessly complicated and more confusing than it needs to be. Upon leaving, when feedback was given about the service, an older female staff abruptly cut in and her dismissive response made it clear they didn’t care.

If there’s anything remotely good about this place, it’s the view and thankfully the staff aren’t in...
