Opunake Motel — Hotel in North Island

I am always reluctant to give a meh review to a local business. I stayed a night with my sister from Brisbane. Really disappointed with firstly only 2 TV channels with shocking reception and distorted audio and secondly, no internet service for my 2° nor my sisters provider. Could buy a voucher but would it work seeing there was no service. Can adapt to all this if proprietor was upfront about it. One bedroom unit with one small heater in living room, none in bedroom or bathroom and no electric blankets in bedroom. Just took the edge off our experience of Ōpunake. Great little find on our travels. Much needed peaceful rest after a few nights camping. We stayed in a lodge which had everything we needed and lots of space. Owners were really welcoming and accommodating. We found through Google maps. However, we searched on multiple websites before checking maps for motels and could not see this motel as an option.
