Ormond Street Motel — Hotel in North Island

STAY HERE OR ELSE!!!! you'll miss out. With the hostest with the mostest. One of if not the nicest motelliers in New Zealand and I have stayed in untold worldwide (can share a few bad ones too, if you ask and say where you are going. We met Joy and crew a number of years ago and just clicked, we have stayed in touch and always stay, the rooms are modern, spacious and immaculate, they have been tastefully decorated and feel homely and inviting, well above average, but it's the service and the genuine care about her guests that makes the experience worthwhile, cooking tea for workmen or stopping to have a natter, Joy makes you feel like family from the start and once you've been here once, well you'll know like us and keep on coming back, many times for us now and it just feels like coming to a mates place, was running behind schedule on this trip and didn't have the chance to call until 45mins out, no problem, room and when I got there the heater and light were on and it's been a while so the biggest smile, lucky as this is a popular spot for workers too (the quiet respectful kind) so try and call in advance, all are welcome and treated equal, Well done Joy you have created a wonderful place that is modern, clean, quiet and tasteful. Tell her Sean told you to come so I get a bigger smile next time, can't wait... P.S. If you don't stay here I'll think...

It all started when we decided to stay overnight after the annual raceday.we decided to stay at the Ormond motel,and by the time we were ready to leave,we had been so well looked after by Joy that we rebooked there and then to come back the next year and stay an extra couple of days.This continued for another 6/7 years,as we got so well looked after everytime we stayed.There were 5 in our party and we all became good friends over that period of time, it was like going from home to home.When we used to arrive there was always a warm and friendly welcome from Joy.While life things have changed as they often do,we all still remember those special times we had,and still talk about them.They will remain special memories for us all that we shared with Joy.I am not sure if Joy still ownes Ormond Motel,,but for anyone who maybe looking to stay in Woodville, just ask if Joy is there you will then know you will be well looked after. ...

The units are cosy, clean, comfortable and extremely well priced. Joy and Mike are so welcoming and go above and beyond to make you feel at home. Nothing is ever too much for them. I loved the clean, fresh smell of the bedding and the way the pillows snuggled my head. Ormond Street Motel provides the service and quality so many places lack today. If you want to relax and enjoy great service, comfort and style, this is the place to go. You may have to book in advance as there are a small amount of rooms available and once people experience the hospitality, they keep coming back for more. If travelling through or into Woodville, I highly recommend Ormond...
