Pacific Rendezvous is located on a impressive cliff top, overlooking the stunning Tutukaka Coastline over towards the Poor Knights Islands. Being only 40 minutes from Whangarei Airport, 30 minutes from the City Centre, and only 5 minutes down to Tutukaka, it's a location that is hard to beat. ||Super easy to find, with everything well signposted. The Gent at Reception was very friendly and welcoming, offering great local suggestions, and also excellent directions to my room, and also the Properties amenities. It seemed like I was the only one staying on this Stormy Weeknight just before Winter.||My room was located at the end of a block of Apartments. Parking located directly outside the door, including a large overhang meaning I could unload the car in the pouring Rain. On entering the Apartment, there is a decent sized kitchen with a Oven and Stovetop, Full sized Fridge Freezer and all the stuff needed to cook a decent meal. ||The Bathroom was a bit of a let down, appearing very dated. Also the Shower pressure was a shocker. ||The Lounge/Living Area was large and spacious, with a Dining Table and Large Sofa. Large Telly with all the Sky Channels (including Movies). Not that I watched any Telly. The views outside the large sliding doors over the Stormy Ocean was mesmerising. A view that could be enjoyed for many hours and days. Upstairs is the Bedroom with a large bed, and also a smaller single bed. The bed was very comfy, with crisp, clean white linen. There is also a Small Deck, again overlooking the ocean, with a small seating area. Perfect for your morning Cuppa. I spent the whole afternoon after checking in, enjoying watching a Storm roll in across the Ocean, listening to the rain and wind batter the front of the Apartment. A Heatpump in the living area kept the Unit at a good constant temperature. ||The grounds of the Resort are well kept and maintained. It struck me as a fantastic place to bring a family with young kids. With two private beaches within walking distance, a swimming pool, a spa pool, tennis court, playground, and plenty of space to throw a ball around - there is a LOT to keep everyone occupied. Beside Reception there is a well stoked Shop, kind of like what you would find at a Campground. They also sell proper barista Coffee! The Resort has heaps of different Accommodation options. ||Being the quiet season, all but one of the Restaurants in Tutukaka were closed. Highly recommend Fish and Chips from the Store in nearby Matapouri! But definitely something to keep in mind - it might pay to Self Cater and take advantage of the proper Kitchen. ||A stay at Pacific Rendezvous is a treat. The views alone are to die for. Add to that the Resort Facilities, the Clean and Comfy Apartments, and the handy location. My disappointment was the bathroom. The rest of the apartment was so fresh and quite modern, and yet the bathroom seemed to be quite old. The Shower had awful pressure, and had a really touchy mixer, going from freezing cold, to boiling hot in a moment. ||At $275 a night for a 1 Bedroom Apartment in the off season, it's probably bang on for the offering. Why pay $200 to stay in a pokey room in a Chain Hotel in town, when you can spend a bit extra, come out to Pacific Rendezvous, and enjoy the views and facilities on offer. ||I cannot wait to return for another visit, hopefully for much longer than just one...

Read moreI have stayed at this lovely place two times now. I just returned from a 2 night stay this weekend and again was overly impressed with EVERYTHING!! This time I did not see Ian or Sue but Natalie Barnes the relief manager was assisting us. Natalie was always super attentive, helpful, friendly and accommodating. Even before we stayed I sent a couple of emails which she always responded too so promptly- in fact same DAY!! ||Aside from the friendly service from Natalie the 3-bedroom superior villa was just stunning. Such a big spacious kitchen with all modern facilities. Shower head was very strong and comfortable. The rooms all spacious, clean and great duvets/linen. In each room they had plenty of extra pillows and blankets so we never felt cold or that we had to ask for anything. They also had central heating but individual heaters in each room which was very much welcomed as we stayed in the last month of winter. We never had to ask for anything as the villa was FULLY EQUIPPED. The views made us all speechless. I have shared many videos and photos and a lot of my friends and family have asked where it is and want to also pay a visit- it is just such a beautiful location and the amenities and the rooms make the stay even more enjoyable. ||It was a shame that other visitors made such a huge mess in the private spa pool (lots of litter/cans of drinks and Lolly wrappers but this was no fault of the resort or management team just inconsiderate visitors before us as we entered the spa right after them so no opportunity for them to clean it but we were happy to clear away the mess. ||I planned on visiting once a year, but I definitely now want to visit more than once a year as it is just that GOOD. Thank you, Natalie and the team, for the awesome stay and hospitality. Cant wait to be...
