Great spacious area. 1 long drop @campsite but there's 2 flush toilets up 2mins or 5mins next to Doc info center. Shag campsite is around the corner from doc info center including free filtered water. Wifi is great can stream movies. Swimming hole was nice. This review is based on staff & facilities. However washing dishes in the middle of Swimming hole instead of making an effort to go down the stream is unbelievable & saw a dog there. No one closed the gate so I closed it at 10pm & picked any rubbish. For security purposes there is none. So no padlock code or gate times here. So keep your valuables in your vehicle cause during the day we mix with public. This was 23/12/24 before Xmas & alot of campers had based here. Did overnight solo camping $10per night. I recommend this place it's Great. I will try other sites along this area.

Our new favorite place to holiday. A well maintained DOC site, beautiful for swimming, the river has a little sandy beach that is great for kids. The DOC centre is just a short walk away with a tap for water and flushing toilets and when open has lots to look at and learn as well as ice creams to buy. Walks in the native bush are stunning. Lots to explore and do.
