This is the worst hostel I've been to, first of all, as soon as I arrived I saw a rat running by, the hot water pools close at 8:30pm, to use the showers you have to pay 2 dollars and they also don't give you sheets or pillows or anything. this place sucks

Fraser and Chris are amazing hosts. I'll start with the camping grounds. Auckland anniversary, lots of campers, we used a powered site for the first time and it was a great experience. Connected power cords and 6 way plug and were able to charge many things and use our little portable fridge. Clean tidied site from a glance. X3 fridge/freezers to use. x4 sinks to do dishes. X2 toasters. Gas stove, microwave, and a big cool bbq to use. Your able to cook many things on it but what's cool is cleaning is ready and simple, I poured hot soapy water on, scrubbers down and it drains the liquid easily with no fuss. Something in going to incorporate on my bbq. X2 washing machines and dryers that uses $2 coins Unisex shower toilet facilities. No issues as everyone respected each other. Showers are free and $2 if you want a hot shower. Many areas as well to eat your food as a family, we were happy. I suggest, bring your own pots/pans, plates, cutlery etc...i mean, camping is camping.lol I love the recycle bins for glass, paper, plastics etc... Yes theirs a rooster, not chicken as some people mentioned singing at earliest 4.30am one morning to 5am another morning. This is a rural setting and if people complain about it, they need to check themselves, there many rosters close, and far away singing away. If that isn't you, stay in the city more I suggest. Brings the country vibes as I'm from the city and I loved it crazily enough as I always here the police helicopter going in West Auckland. Lol So great camping experience. We even set up the Nintendo X for kids to play. Kid's had a great time and made friends with others.

Now the pool was free for us. We absolutely loved it. 3 areas, toddlers area, a bigger pool for big kids and adults. The hot spa for adults and kids if they can manage the heat. Nice areas to have a picnic or bbq. Clean facilities for sure. I loved how the pool was emptied daily, cleaned and filled up again for the next day. People crying foul, from what I witnessed, saw were people sneaking in glass drinks, bottles and some alcohol and being spoken to was fair. Glass near pools is not good and if they accidentally smash, week that will shut the pools down. That includes smoking but some people think vaping is ok. Rules are rules..i saw comments saying they are racists when you have Maori turning up, breaking the rules and complaining and crying foul when your breaking the rules. At the same time being bloody rude. I'm Maori cracking up thinking, wow, they're only watching you because you think rules are for everyone else but you. I love how they keep this place, very family orientainted feel. I felt sorry for Fraser having to go over and talk to some parents about the rules. Maybe go to the mount pools and swim there. Or the mount.. They are not racists, but simply care about other users having a good experience without others ruining it.

Overall, we will be back... Thank you Fraser and Chris for your hospitality. A well deserved 5...

Oh, you're in for a treat, folks! Picture this: a pool so hot, it's like swimming in the cauldron of a maniacal mad scientist! It's scorching enough to put a smile on even my clownish face. đŸ’€đŸ”„

I walked in, and it felt like I was descending into the fiery depths of Gotham's underworld. The sizzling sensation took me back to the times I've danced with chaos and watched the world burn! And the best part? The lifeguards didn't even blink an eye when they saw my purple suit and signature grin! Now that's hospitality.

But hey, if you're just a mere mortal, don't fret! The pool's temperature is adjustable, so you can dial it down to something less... combustible. 😜

The ambiance is delightfully dark and mysterious, just like the mind of a certain Clown Prince of Crime. You'll feel like you're plotting a heist while you soak in the thermal goodness. And speaking of heists, remember to keep an eye out for any costumed vigilantes lurking around—Gotham is full of surprises!

And as for the poolside snacks, they've got killer chili dogs and a punchline punch that'll leave you in stitches. Just try not to spill anything on the towels; I hear the staff isn't too fond of bat-stains.

So there you have it, my dear pool enthusiasts! Dive into the mayhem and let the heat embrace you. Remember, it's all fun and games until Batman shows up! But who knows, he might be taking a swim in here too! 🩇🃏

Happy swimming, my fellow...

Staying here for just one day already felt like a nightmare—everything from the room to the bathroom was beyond unacceptable. This is by far the most unforgettable (in the worst way) accommodation cabin I’ve ever stayed in. Can you believe it? Inside the cabin, there wasn’t a single normal power socket! The host had replaced them all with USB ports. This was extremely inconvenient because not every device runs on USB. If we needed to charge or use any normal appliance, we had to go to the shared kitchen. For example, after showering, if I wanted to blow dry my hair, I had no choice but to go to the common area.

The shower was even worse. You had to insert coins to get hot water, and it only lasted 5 minutes. Once the water stopped, you had to step out—wet and wrapped in a towel or half-dressed—just to insert more coins outside before continuing your shower. Meanwhile, anyone could walk past, including men, which was extremely awkward and uncomfortable for women.

The toilets were also shared between men and women, and the doors weren’t fully covered to the ceiling. This gave me an uneasy feeling that the risk of being secretly filmed was very high.

If you haven’t booked this place yet—don’t do it. Save yourself from the torture. This was honestly one of the most disgusting and unpleasant accommodations I’ve ever...
