We had a beautiful wedding at Tawharanui Lodge, one of the first with the new owners Karl and Jo.||||They were so accomodating for all our little requests - extremely helpful with putting up decorations exactly how we wanted them (including a few unusual quirky touches), got new wifi just because we asked for it, and were around to help things run smoothly on the day.||||We had a bit of a miscommunication about the bar package with the old owners, as we wanted champagne right after the ceremony which is not standard. Karl and Jo not only sorted it out, but gave us an extra half hour of drinks for free :)||||The bar and wait staff were all really friendly, our guests raved about them afterwards (especially Angela behind the bar). ||||A lot of our guests were late due to traffic, but the staff here were quite flexible. They were fine pushing everything back an hour, and brought out extra appetizers so the guests didn't get too hungry before a late dinner.||||The room was lovely to stay in, very spacious and freshly renovated. The bride and bridesmaids had so much room to get ready. We also had a cute little private balcony out the back, which was lovely for us to sit and relax once the guests had left.||||There was still renovation work going on, but it was nicely cleared up for our event. Karl and Jo worked so hard to make sure everything was polished and perfect for the day. We really appreciate how hard it must have been in the middle of all that!||||Guests stayed in rooms on site, and baches up the hill, and were invited back the next morning for a lovely breakfast (even though we hardly needed any more food!)||||Overall it was a perfect experience as a wedding day should be! We've made friends with Karl and Jo, who were wonderful the whole time, and even invited us back for our anniversary - can't wait to go back and see how much more...
Read moreMy husband and I got married at Tawharanui Lodge on the 29th April 2023. We looked into a couple of venues in the area, but were completely won over by Tawharanui. The venue itself is beautiful, the location is close to the beach, and the packages they offer are comprehensive and amazing value for money. We loved that venue, food, drinks accommodation and decorations were all taken care of, it took so much stress out of the planning! And Jo and Karl absolutely went above and beyond. We genuinely felt that they were invested in making our day so special, and they lived up to our every expectation. Jo's communication and dedication to our wedding was faultess from the get-go. No ask was too big, no detail too small. And Karl was so kind and helpful the day before and of, he really put us at ease. Our day was so perfect, thanks to the teamwork of Jo, Karl and their staff who sorted everything behind the scenes.
Our guests all commented on what a lovely venue it was, and how phenomenal the food was (we had an incredible buffet selection of beef, chicken, ham and seafood, delicious salads, breads and potatoes - we truly ate like royalty!) Catering to our vegan guests was no trouble, and they raved about their meals, too. The wait staff were diligent and friendly. And having the rooms and chalets on site was wonderful - it allowed for easy setup the night before, a lovely space to get ready, and an easy 30 second walk at the end of the night to our accommodation!
I would unreservedly recommend Tawharanui Lodge as a wedding venue. Jo and Karl brought the perfect mix of professionalism and genuine care. They listened to what we wanted and delivered a day that was more special than we'd even imagined! Jo and Karl, we are...
Read moreThis is a very stunning location for a wedding. When we were looking for venues near Auckland to get married, we were highly recommended Tawharanui Lodge and it did not disappoint one bit. The venue was superb and perfect for us to mark our special occasion. It was such a stunning place and setting to get married. To cap it all off Karl and Jo were absolutely amazing in making this the perfect day for us, we cannot thank them enough. All the details that we wouldnât have considered were all carefully thought of by Karl and Jo. The bubbly that was brought to our for the groomsmen and bridesmaid while we were getting ready on the day was just an example how they thought of everything. We stayed at Tawharanui Lodge the night before plus an extra night after the big day which made things so much easier for us. Just to mention, we are a couple who came all the way from the UK, so you can imagine the logistics of organising everything, but Karl and Jo made this a breeze. The rooms for the Bride and Groom were perfect, smart and beautiful. The whole venue was just perfect. One heads up though is do not rely on the Google images of the area, we saw how stunning the place is having been there. We liked the place so much we definitely will be going back...
