We have stayed here in the past and were happy with what we got for the price we paid, this time it was pretty gross, when we arrived every unit on the block had all its doors and windows wide open on arrival and after coming back after a couple of hours out it was obvious why they had them all open , they stank !! Stale musty just awful dirty smelling. The kitchen cupboards were sticky and smelt really bad , the fridge stank and anything you put in there had stuck to the fridge when you came back to use it. The dishcloth was wet so they had just rinsed it out between guests not put a clean one in. The window latches had a science experiment going on ( see attached photo) there was so much mould on and around the windows it was gross . Rather than opening all the doors and windows between guests how about addressing the issues causing the stench and actually cleaning the place properly and keep it free of mould. The only thing this place has going for it is its location. I will never stay here again and would strongly advise anyone against staying here. Just for reference we stayed in a studio unit.

Firstly I think the sigh needs to go. It's sad really. Last time I was here a lovely older lady owned it . Garden was nice . Appearance was alot more welcoming Now place needs alot of TLC. Garden, fences, decks , doors that don't open properly, bathrooms, showers, kitchen needs a good clean. Not seen any cleaning get done since I've been here I my popup on a powered site. Spider webs everywhere That's dead camper just puts the whole place down . I won't be back . Not worth the view of broken fences, dead camper . Will say the Wifi was great and the beach.

We stayed for 2 nights @ $235 per night in a 2 bedroom.

The lean on the whole unit was disorentating, mold in the bathroom on the walls and someone's hair stuck to the shower curtain, the oven temperature switch is broken, had dogs trying to enter our back door which we had open as the place condensates easily, when i booked it stated having a pull out couch which it didnt, some sheets had yellow stains aswell as the wall by the bed, The beds have electric blankets but not enough plugs to use them, and disappointingly upon checking out I entered reception where I was hit with the oder of cigarettes which was odd since the site says no smoking. On a positive the lady who checked us in was friendly, informative and pleasant, the kids loved the tramp we didn't make it to the pool due to it being raining almost our whole trip but it looked like a nice spot to relax and cool down on a hot day, the location was to die for, with the beach only a stone throw away & the glow worms just up the road, also not too far from...

We chose this place because we could bring our dog. I managed to book the two bedroom stand alone cottages, this had its own grass area and a great balcony.||On arrive the staff were super helpful and the accomodation unit was very tidy and had every thing we needed.||We stayed for three nights and was pleasantly surprised that they can everyday to empty the rubbish, clean the kitchen (including our dishes) and tidy the bathroom.||The kids used the pool everyday, it's not flash but cooled the kids down and kept them entertained for a good amount of time, plus it's fully fenced so the dog could come and have a snif and roam.||We went to use the playground and unfortunately this area could use a bit of an update as most of the equipment was old and worn. But the kids didn't seem to mind as Hokitika has plenty of awesome playgrounds. ||With the beach being just over the road it was ideal and the centre of town was only a 10min walk away.||I would recommend if you have pets, and will...
