Blue Spur Bed and Breakfast — Hotel in South Island

Everything about our stay here was excellent. We don't usually choose B&B accommodation as we have had some uncomfortable experiences in the past, but this place was lovely and the hosts were welcoming, pleasant and relaxed. There are three rooms on site, each one is spacious, clean,very nicely presented and comfortable. Our room had a huge and well-appointed bathroom, as i am sure the others did too. There is good separation from the hosts house and the b&b so it is very private, and there is a small communal kitchenette area where you can make a cuppa without going into the main house, which adjoins the accommodation. Breakfast was served in their kitchen around a large table, and it was great - cereals, juices, toast and fruit, as well s the option for bacon and eggs if you wanted. It is located just 5 minutes drive from the town too. Absolutely...

Nicely appointed good sized rooms with comfy beds, traditionally styled. TV with basic channels. Great shower. Sofa in rooms to enable you to sit in the evening. Nice touches such as chocolates in rooms. Small shared kitchenette to enable you to make tea/coffee/a light snack. Guest fridge and freezer handy for storing own food in. Nice hosts. Quiet area. Parking on site. Good breakfast - cereals/toast/tinned fruit/eggs & bacon with tea/coffee/juice - a fresh fruit offering plus wider selection of hot options eg beans on toast, vege option etc would enhance this. 5 minutes drive to Hokitika - 30 minute drive...

Our stay at Blue Spur was so memorable for all the right reasons. When we were unable to proceed to the West Coast due to the massive flood, Ron and Jan helped us work out alternative routes to take so that we could enjoy the rest of our stay at the South Island.||The whole place was clean and extremely well-maintained.||Jan's quilt pieces and other forms of handiwork resulted in a cozy and comfortable stay for guests.||Breakfast was marvellous. Ron is such a superb cook. The breakfast that were served on both mornings were so scrumptious that we still remember them fondly.||Great hosts, great stay,...
