Charlies Motor Lodge (formally helensborough motor inn) — Hotel in South Island

I am a Travel Agent and confirmed a booking with Pauline who works at the Helensborough Motor Inn on 12/06/17. ||The stay was for a corporate client to stay from 13-16 June 2017. ||I even called Rachel on the day of the booking to confirm and yes Pauline advised everything was confirmed.||Pauline ended up calling back us back an hour later to cancel, saying she had overbooked and made a mistake. This is the third time we have stayed here. The back unit we booked was ideal for us with a lovely spa bath and well maintained . The unit was serviced every day. The proprietors are welcoming and friendly . ||It’s the ideal place to stay while visiting friends and family or passing through on your trip elsewhere . It’s only 45 minutes from Dunedin and 20 minutes to Kaka Point . It’s great to stay there and do day trips to the Catlins and other nearby places knowing you can relax in peace, quiet and comfort when you return...

On a trip through New Zealand in October, we stopped for the night in Balclutha, and found ourselves at the Helensborough Motor Inn. It was a very brief stay, but we found the room to be clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. The owner/manager was very friendly and provided us with a good dinner recommendation. It was a bit of a walk into town for a meal (we don't like to take the car out once stopped for the night), and Balclutha struck us as a bit of an industrial town, but no complaints...
