I recently had the pleasure of dining at Raj in Balclutha, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. This Indian shop truly lives up to its reputation as the best in town. I ordered the Kadai Prawn, Onion Bhajis, and a Garlic Naan, and each dish was simply to die for! The Kadai Prawn was perfectly spiced and cooked to perfection, with a rich and flavorful sauce that left me wanting more. The prawns were succulent and fresh, making this dish a standout. The Onion Bhajis were crispy and golden, with a delightful crunch that paired wonderfully with the accompanying chutney. They were light and not greasy at all, which is a testament to the quality of their preparation. The Garlic Naan was fluffy and aromatic, with just the right amount of garlic. It was the perfect complement to the Kadai Prawn, helping to soak up every bit of the delicious sauce. The ambiance at Raj is warm and welcoming, and the staff were attentive and friendly, making the entire experience even more enjoyable. If you're in Balclutha and craving authentic Indian cuisine, Raj is an absolute must-visit. I can't recommend it highly enough!

I truly have no idea where to start...The server was severely under-trained and lacked the support to serve all customers at the counter, take out meals to tables, and answer the phone (take-away orders). The "Chef" had to come out to take our order, and that was the only time we appeared to receive great service. The entrees took about 40 minutes to be served, and then we waited 50 minutes for our curries that never made it to the table. We asked the server to pack up the entree leftovers, and the curries, as we had waited long enough. They were eventually ready to grab, though it was a $60 disappointment, that I wish my partner did not have to pay for. We took the food home, one was bland, the other just spice. Naan breads were stodgy, and the leftover entrees were left out. 1 Star is generous, though I would like to add that the Mango Lassi was very nice, and presented attractively. Oh! and we are still waiting on the ice cream we paid for, though this is most probably a lost cause...

Hi we went to this restaurant around 8 pm today and ordered chicken tikka masala . I asked so many times to the guy who was taking my order regarding the chicken they use in tikka Masala. I asked him very politely do you guys use tandoori chicken or boiled chicken in tikka Masala. I want the tandoori chicken if you dnt use tandoori I ll get something else . But he said they always use tandoori chicken they never use boil chicken . But when I got home and opened the the curry First of all this is not tikka Masala or may be they don't know how to make tikka masala. Secondally all the chicken pieces were boiled. So totally waste of money . I ll never go there again and never...
