Lake Brunner Longhouse — Hotel in South Island

Exceptionally clean, lots of little perks you would expect in a high rated hotel. It is a small place and you can hear your neighbours if they are noisy but most places are like this. It is cosy and I couldn't recommend highly enough. Gail is lovely and looks after your every need. Beautiful outlook, different areas outside. It is not far from township and from what I hear of others that stayed in town we got the winner. Value for dollar is exceptional. One of the restaurants/bars in town has a courtesy van you can get picked up and returned if you using their establishment, so there is no issue with transport if you need it though we didn't utilise. Friendly dog and cat, great bird life, has a couple of friendly weka who came to say hello. Cicaders and birds to listen to as you maybe have a glass of wine and watch the beautiful sky. Oh My! If I ever get back to NZ, Gael's BnB is on my 'must do again' list. The rooms are super clean, well set out, very comfy, and Gael thinks of everything. We, as a family with grown kids, had 3 x double rooms. Each room has its own bathroom and small kitchenette, but there is also a common kitchen, dining area. The rooms are excellent for families as we could just walk across the hallway and visit each other. We unfortunately scored an overcast and drizzly afternoon, so we sat in the common area and played cards. Gael is very helpful and a lovely kind person. The location is perfect - not far from town and super quiet. No traffic...

Lake Brunner Longhouse far exceeded our expectations! The facilities are standard, and the room and bathroom are not huge, but they are more than adequate and spotlessly clean. The location is wonderfully rural, but only a few minutes' drive from Moana. The service from Lisa was outstanding - so friendly and accommodating. The supplies were well above average, with adequate toiletries, a great coffee and tea selection, as well as excellent and generous Continental breakfast provisions. And all this for a great price. We are quite picky, but can highly and unreservedly...
