Not the best views as you're down in a little valley, but had some great shade under all the pine trees. Sadly, those trees also blocked the amazing night sky. We were able to find a quiet spot with some distance and privacy from the other campers. The nearby camping lot was crowded and offered no privacy or shade, so we liked this option better. A short walk you could be out in an open area with nice views.

Beautiful campground. Only for self contained vehicles. There is a little pond and lot of trees around, some picnic tables, its right next to the canal so great spot for fishing. Is close to the main road so a bit noisy but not too bad. Had phone reception as well.

Great spot , except an old guy in a van filming our caravan being creepy. We got 2 little kids with us so it's a bit unsettling so we leaving today. Here is his number plate. He needs to go.

Lake Wardel Campsite is a good option if you’re looking for a quiet and simple camping spot. The atmosphere is peaceful, and there are plenty of shaded areas, which make it comfortable on sunny days. The small lake and the nearby canal add some charm to the location, making it a decent place to relax and unwind.

That said, there are quite a few insects around, which can get a bit annoying, so bringing insect repellent is a good idea. The gravel road leading to the campsite has some potholes, so it’s worth driving carefully, especially with a larger vehicle.

The campsite itself is basic but functional, offering what you need for an overnight stay without any unnecessary frills. It’s not the most spectacular spot, but if you’re just looking for a quiet place to rest and don’t need much in terms of facilities, it works perfectly fine.

Overall, it’s a decent camping spot with a relaxed vibe. While it may not be a standout destination, I’d consider staying here again if I were in the area and looking for a simple, quiet...

its free. I went there since White Horse in mt cook village was fully booked. There is one toilet which is nice but a bit hard for shy people i would assume. The campsite for a van is good but for a tent isnt great. The soil is hard and you can easily hear the motorway. The place is far from pretty (I really mean it) but it...
