Moeraki Boulders Motel — Hotel in South Island

Great place to stay and stay a couple of days, this was our second visit our first last year! A very clean Room with a large tv fridge,microwave and fridge also a big bathroom with shower and toilet.

Sites to see are of course the Moeraki Boulders which takes you less than 2 minutes by car.

The City of Oamaru is about a 20 minute drive from this motel where you will find Steam punk and old buildings that date back as far as the 1800’s a great photo opportunity, the area is also know for penguins 🐧 which we were lucky enough to see in one of the streets!! Also if your hungry there are plenty of restaurants for the picking.

The site was easy to find and centrally located. The hosts are outstanding. Friendly and welcoming but not intrusive. ||Three parts of one family visited (in three units) for Christmas. We all had dogs and the children ranged in age from 5 - 14 years. The unit we had has a great bathroom but no kitchen. It's not suitable for a long stay unless you (as we did) have the kitchen in another unit available to you. Since we shared meals it didn't really impact us. The others had two bedroom units with a really generous kutchen, dining, lounge area and another bed.||On Boxing Day our numbers swelled to 18 for lunch. These guys were super friendly and accommodating! We left Invercargill in the evening after an all-day activity, and were trying to get as far north as we could. The hotels in Dunedin were much too pricey for our budget, and we were starting to wonder where on earth we were going to stay when we saw the sign for Hampden Court. It was after the office had closed, but one of the family members (family-owned motel) was still around and set us up with a room.
