Pineacres Holiday Park — Hotel in South Island

It looked like a really good option at first..

Old guy running the place Seemed* friendly & accommodating until I raised the issue of the ridiculously slow WiFi , they advertise & sell IKS internet plans. Now the sad part is the connection. Is amazing as they have 3 antenna around the park for maximum coverage, but the speed... Omg I lived in rural NZ on 100kbs but this was unreal .

Speed tested all around the park at 20kb down 1kb up.

And whent I approached the old guy (finding him is a mission in itself.) Offering up the solution I found after doing all the work back n forth calling iks & ISPs,

It turns out he's on a 400kbps plan!?!? yes shared by all customers at the park... And requesting he get a new plan? My head was bitten off "we haven't had a problem till you got here etc" the reason being, I asked a lot of patrons if they use the internet & they DONT BOTHER CAUSE ITS TOO SLOW .. lmao

72 Years old? This old guy cannot handle running this park while the owner is away. He has temper tantrums & struggles to do all the work on his own & I don't really blame him it is too much...

Disappointing stay. The owner seemed annoyed that we booked through Booking.com when checking in. He said the room we booked was not actually available and had to place us in another entirely different type of cabin. The room was very cold inside and had no heating or spare blankets. We called the after hours number at reception to ask about getting a heater for the night. The owner answered and gave massive attitude saying there was a heat pump right on the wall, which there was definitely not a heat pump anywhere to be seen in the cabin. The young couple staying right next door to us had the same issue and we had to share a heater with them, which they hunted down from across the campground, so we all didn’t freeze. The lightbulb from the bed lamp and the smoke alarm were...

Too small for family unit. Had to reverse into shower. No room to turn. Leaking shower. Beds too big for room so can't close door. Freezer in fridge frosted over for ? many months. Toaster on last legs. You have to turn toaster off to rescue toast One very small two seater couch so no room to sit unless you used outdoor chairs. Electric blanket had been left on newly made bed for I don't know how long. Don't go for chalet cabins if...
