17/04/2025. Came here again with my husband this time and two other friends. We had the pasta (sooooo good!!) Mixed grill, fried chicken and the everything burger. Man, it was all piping hot, the pasta was so tasty and a massive portion, the chips were on point and the steak was cooked to perfection. I don’t know who the chef is but he/she can COOK!! I have recommended this place to so many people including my brother who lives at Copper Beech in Woodend - and he owns a very busy clinic in Pegasus so let’s hope he can also recommend this to his clients because this food deserves to be eaten by everyone! Thankyou again for the amazing service to the lovely girls who were working that night. Friendly, smiley and polite! Nothing but excellent things to say about this place. Well will be back again and soon! 01/04/2025 For my birthday, we decided to finally stop in here for a casual dinner - after all, we drive past this place all the time, so it was about time we gave it a go! As luck would have it, it was $20 Tuesday, which meant a great deal: a meal inclusive of fries and salad or mixed vegetables with whipped potatoes. How could we say no? The menu had some solid options - tempura fish, porterhouse steak, scallops, Harris Meat sausages and mash… plenty to choose from! We were greeted with fantastic service from a lovely young woman who made us feel right at home. I went for the porterhouse, cooked medium, with fries and salad, while my friend opted for the fried chicken with fries and salad. And let me tell you - I won the dinner lottery. My steak was PERFECTLY cooked, the fries were fresh and hot, and the salad had this zingy, delicious vinaigrette that made me feel like I was suddenly a person who actually enjoys eating salad. But the real star? That mushroom and bacon sauce - absolute magic. I’d put it on everything if I could. My friend’s fried chicken? Also a winner - crispy, piping hot, and absolutely delicious. We both sat there wondering how on earth we had driven past this place so many times without stopping in. Never again. Since my husband is away for work this week, I did the only responsible thing: I sent him a picture of my steak to make him jealous. Mission accomplished - he’s already planning our next visit. And to top it all off, I was surprised with a yummy ice cream sundae for my birthday - generous enough for us to share (but let’s be honest, I considered keeping it all for myself). Thank you, Pineacres Restaurant! This was better than a lot of those big-chain places, where the steaks feel like they’re churned out assembly-line style. This meal was made with care, and you could taste it. Good, honest, wholesome food. We will absolutely be back!!! I just wanted to say about my score for atmosphere - it was quite quiet but I could imagine if it is was busy - as in the weekends it would be a great fun place to be!!!

We stopped here for dinner after visiting Hanmer Hot Springs. Upon entering the premises, we were completely ignored by the waitperson who continued drying the silverwares with her back turned to us. We feel totally ignored, after letting her know that we are interested in getting dinner at the diner. Staff maybe tired but this is not good customer service. Staff exudes unfriendly and unwelcoming vibes...not good for business. The only saving grace of this place is the food. The food came out well-plated and in generous amount. It has home-cooked appearance that we liked. I would have given the place a higher rating for the food but considering the overall experience with the staff, i could not give more than two stars. So the verdict is: food is good, 3-4 stars; service/staff needs to be customer friendly, 1-2 stars.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Pineacres Restaurant & Bar in Kaiapoi, and it was an unforgettable experience. I ordered the roast pork belly, and it was absolutely delicious and tender and bursting with flavor. The dish was taken to another level when the owner herself offered me some Korean chili sauce, explaining that since I’m far from Korea, I’d miss it. This thoughtful, personal touch not only enhanced the flavors but also made me feel truly welcomed. The perfect balance of savory pork and the zesty kick of the chili sauce made for a delightful meal. I left feeling satisfied and well cared for, and I can’t wait to return for another visit. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great food paired with genuine hospitality!
