This is a fairly standard DOC campsite, with only very basic facilities (toilet block). It's a bit out of Picton, so it's fairly quiet. But the real attraction of this place is that it has a massive grassed area, and you can camp very close to the water. So there's lots of space, and you have some sense of privacy - if you're fortunate you'll be able to get a spot between some trees/bushes. You do need to be self-sufficient to stay here, but if you're geared for that, it can be a nice place for an overnight stop with a motorhome. You can try swimming here, but you'll need to step over a lot of rocks to get anywhere close to...

Read moreThe campground is close to the Picton farry port and the natural surroundings are beautiful. Nonetheless the lady who manages the campground is unnecessarily unfriendly. We‘d already book the site through the DOC homepage and I showed her the confirmation (pictures attached) but she insisted there is no booking confirmation on HER list and made us pay twice. I’m not complaining about the money but about the behaviour, she treated us like pirate campers and was very rude 7 a.m. in the morning.
