I stayed at the Davies Hotel on a recent work trip to Ibadan. The lobby was painted in a bold red and laid out in a funky way, which looked promising.||||The room was just okay. Clean and comfortable enough without being exceptionally so. Same with the bathroom. Since I was there for work, I did not spend much time in the room beyond the evening/night.||||The menu in the restaurant held similar promise and I ordered the rice and ata dindin, only to be told that they did not have it. I eventually asked what they had. The rice and stew that followed was quite good. The breakfast selection was frankly poor. After staying in quite a few budget to middle-range hotels, I didn't expect much for the breakfast selection, but even I found the 2-3 items on offer hugely disappointing.||||A big plus were the staff, who were friendly and helpful. I can't compare it to anywhere else in Ibadan, but on it's own, it's not a bad...

Read moreI have stayed in this hotel severally as its a good hotel is a lovely location in Ibadan. Its tried maintaining its standard over the years with refurbishment as required (i guess). But what i notice is every time (mostly a maximum of 2 nites and i'm off ...basically passing through) i come around, they mostly have d perfect room for me.||In a quiet environment with few fastfood restaurants not too far from the hotel location (if you don like the hotel food), cos the free breakfast given me once (though tasty), will not be enough to feed to baby girl alone.||some old part of the hotel has been worked on, air condition worked perfectly, the bath was clean (though i didn't use the towels - for no reason), bed good enough to rest on, spacious room. in all great stay.||Though , most times i am in Ibadan to past the night, i simpe just want a good bed, with AC to sleep, and they provide the basic hotel...
