It is a very clean, modern, upscale Hotel. Very nice all around. The issue I had was with my choice privileges Platinum membership which has always been acknowledged at every strawberry Hotel we've stayed at. At this hotel, they did not acknowledge membership. When I inquired, they said they had no suites available. They gave us a room that overlooked a grocery store. I went back down and asked if there were any rooms facing the water. The representative looked somewhat put off by that question but asked her colleague and eventually reported back to me that there was another room but it wasn't clean. I would have to wait. I told them that would be fine. She also told me she wrote me a greeting card but didn't have time to put it in the room so she handed it to me. Not a big deal, but it was just weird. While I was waiting, I noticed that there were three suites available to book online. I don't know why they told me there were no suites available. It would be better if they just said that this hotel did not participate in the program or something. The other representatives we worked with were very friendly and very helpful. It was just this one that was somewhat off-putting. However, the hotel is very nice. One other issue is that they list the sauna as an amenity. However it is not actually part of the hotel. It is a separate business and you have to pay for it. To me, that should be listed as a nearby attraction rather than an amenity. I was expecting to use the sauna. But all in all, it was...
Read moreThe hotel is pretty new and quite fancy. I had a double room which was really clean and very stylish. There was a vent from the bathroom directly to the bed which kept running the whole night and was quite loud. Also the loft was not accessible due to a wrong ladder being attached (there was a warning sign). I think for the price I paid this should not have happened. I asked the staff to turn off the vent and the employee was very friendly but there was no way to turn it off. Location-wise I think it was nicely situated on the harbor next to the Hurtigruten museum. However there was a bar/night club next door and the bass was pounding all night, which was quite the disturbance. The food in the restaurant was tasty and the staff here were friendly as well! I also went to their sauna right next to the hotel. I honestly think that for the price per night, it would have been nice to have the sauna included for hotel guests. It was a good stay but if I had stayed for more than one night I likely would have asked for another room where all booked features would’ve...
Read moreI recently booked a stay at Quality Hotel Richard With without a free cancellation, fully intending to honor my reservation. Unfortunately, due to a major climate protest that shut down the airport, my flight was canceled. Despite explaining this situation, which is clearly an act of force majeure, and the fact that no alternative flights were offered by the airline, the hotel refused to accommodate my cancellation request. This wasn't a cancellation by choice but a necessity due to uncontrollable circumstances.
Additionally, I have learned that the hotel is now renting out the room, despite my reservation being practically active, as I simply couldn't physically get there. This strikes me as highly unprofessional business practice. Their lack of understanding and rigid policies have caused me significant inconvenience. I recommend future travelers be aware of their inflexible approach to...
