Abra Havn — Hotel in Kristiansand

This village is basically an expansion of the zoo (Dyreparken) experience. It is much more than Accommodation, since it provides entertainment for kids of all ages; I guess the target age range stops at early teenagers.

The apartments are quite small but they are well thought. There is a small kitchen with 2 hot plates, a small dish washer and a sink. Pans, pots, cutlery, cups and plates are included. There is also a microwave and an elettric kettle. Next to that, a low table next to the sofa works as a dining tableb for eating your meals inside. The bathroom is equipped with shower and hairdryer.

The bedroom(s) are quite small and I personally don't like the way the bed linens are arranged, but it is totally OK for a long weekend vacation.

At the reception building there is a small convenience store that sells milk, cheese, ice cream, juices and a few products for children care. Baby food is available for free. In the same building there is also a restaurant that offers a buffet dinner (really good variety of meat and salads, also for kids) and pizzas (for me their pizza is a no no no. No).

The real plus of this place is the free entertainment for kids (pirate boats coming in the harbour, shows in the afternoon, playground, relict ship to explore, etc.) and the vicinity to the zoo.

Price wise is on the expensive side, that turns my evaluation one star down.

Overall it is a pleasant experience, e pecially for kids that can become pirates...

We stayed at Villa Rosa within Abra Havn. Villa Rosa has, in my opinion, the best location within Abra Havn as it lies where "the sea" (Grashavet) meets the harbor. This gives you fantastic views of the battles between the pirate ships, and a real close up view as the ship sails into the harbor. I've added a couple of pictures of it. ||Our appartment at Villa Rosa had two bedrooms (beds for 5 people), a bathroom and a living room with a small kitchen, and a balcony. It had all modern amenities you would expect, such as refrigerator, cooking top, WiFi, shower, etc. The only thing we missed was a washing machine.||In Abra Havn there is a restaurant that serves breakfast and dinner buffets, as well as pizza for take away. We really liked the dinner buffet. Though the breakfast buffet was a bit too basic and not worth the money in our opinion.||At 0800 every morning the pirate ship sails into the harbor with canons firing and songs playing, followed by a 15 minute show at the town square. Our kids loved this as its such a cool way to start the day. At 1800 in the evening the pirates return and roam around the streets (of course in character). At 1900 the pirates wrap up for the day with another 15 minute show. This is what makes it worth staying in Abra Havn over the other locations in the park, as there is something happening before the park opens as well as after you've returned from the day...

Jeg skal skrive denne anmeldelsen i 2 deler da det er slik det oppleves.

Fra et barns perspektiv er det helt fantastisk med pirater som vandrer rundt på kvelden, små forestillinger her og der i abrahavn. Piratfrokost med besøk av sjørøvere og et lite tokt etter mat for å stjele ei skattekiste. Kjempe kjekt for ungene men en egen gullmynt som belønning.

Fra et voksent perspektiv er det latterlig dyrt og prisen står aldeles ikke i stil med hva man får. 1 natt på rom med 3 senger og 1 sovesofa koster 4500kr. Rommet er helt OK, verken mer eller mindre. Er ikke kaffetrakter eller vannkoker. Lite utstyrt kjøkken med 2 koketopper og kjøleskap som er bra men en kaffitrakter eller vannkoker er obligatorisk utstyr, VÆRTFALL til denne prisen. Oppvaskmaskin var heller ikke tømt etter forrige gjester. Vi var4 stk og kun 2 senger var oppredd ved ankomst. Øverste køye ble ikke oppredd pga HMS(?!) iflg koselig jente i resepsjonen.Vi har sikkert ligget på over 100 familierom med køyesenger på vegg rundt om i Norden og har aldri før Abra havn opplevd at overkøyen ikke er oppredd ved ankomst.... Pga av HMS... Sovesofa var heller ikke oppredd og dette var en forglemmelse, til 4500kr pr.natt glemmer man ikke det. Døra inn til badet knirket så fælt at det vekker hele hytta når noen var på badet.

Sluket var tett i dusjen og hele badet ble oversvømt. Stod derfor og vasset i hår og graps fra tidligere gjester. Ga beskjed om dette på utsjekk og dette er jo sånt som kan skje. Piratfrokosten betalte vi også 1200kr for og der gikk det tomt for mat hele tiden og ble mye venting for oss voksne. Det vil si at for frokost og rom betalte vi 5700kr for ÉN natt. Det er latterlig dyrt når alt ikke er helt topp for hele familien, spesielt dem voksne som også er på ferie. Skal du i tilegg innom Sabeltann show(som var veldig bra) og inn i dyreparken koster 1 døgn på Abrahavn med artigheter i dyreparken 9800kr for en familie på 4 stk.

Gjør litt research, du kan få så vanvittig mye mer for nesten 10.000kr.

Vi har reist så masse med barna rundt om i hele Norge, Danmark og Sverige. Abra Havn blir plassen vi uten tvil har betalt mest for minst når du ser på hele opplevelsen. Første gang vi er her og siden barna er såpass store ble dette også siste, heldigvis...

Siden Sabeltann og gjengen er det dem er, blir jo dette et umettelig marked der pris ikke alltid trenger å stå i stil med utbytte, det vil alltid være folk i tusentall som kommer hit hvert år, bare fordi Sabeltann er Sabeltann...

Sees kanskje igjen når mine barn har fått barn. Inntil...
