I was unhappy with this hotel and ultimately checked out and booked elsewhere. I had booked the last available room at a peak time, but consequently was paying an extraordinary price for what turned out to be a very average room.

On arrival, the hotel presented as very tired, with cramped public spaces. I had booked a “family room” - only because it was the last room available, not because I wanted its features. It was clean and serviceable but was merely a very very small room with two narrow twin beds and an option to fold two “bunks” out of the side of the wall - but operated by key so presumably you must ask the hotel for use of these bunks. Technically you could sleep 4 people in the room however it would not be functional to have 4 suitcases open or to move about.

The “Nordlys lounge” is a bit of spare space (possibly used for functions) a few items of spare furniture and a kids play area.

The restaurant offers breakfast and dinner. Dinner seemed reasonably priced. Several nearby cafes offer lunch within 150m.

I checked out immediately and transferred to the Thon, where I received a much larger and nicer room with additional amenities (like a coffee maker) and an amazing view of the fjord for half the price. This pricing is obviously a function of market pricing at the time and may not be repIicabld but wish I had understood the brand differential, as I should have simply booked the Thon in the...

This was a great little hotel in the center of the small city. Our room with twin beds was plenty spacious and it was a real bonus having a bathtub with amazing hot water. WiFi was good. Breakfast had a variety and was delicious - plenty of good coffee.) As we arrived by ferry, we were there too early to check in but it was easy to leave our luggage in a big locked storage room and wait in a very nice lounge area before an afternoon activity. Normally the bus stop from the harbor and to the airport stops right by the hotel - but we arrived the night of a sled dog race into the city center, so the bus was re-routed to stop on the Main Street below the hotel about 2 blocks away. I would absolutely stay here again.

Hotel was great but we needed gluten free and there didn't appear to be a choice for that in the restaurant for dinner. Breakfast wasn't a problem. However this was the case for most of the food we could find online, so not unique - just a heads up. We ended up with things for dinner from the...

Seems like a great hotel spacious and all but service is shitty. Paid full price for a room with 3 beds and only provided 1 pillow for the 3rd bed. Requested an extra pillow from the concierge and reply was people keep stealing their pillow they have no extra. Horrible service standard that don't even have an extra pillow to provide and trying to indicate that we would steal pillow? Bathroom was also a horrible shower right in between a drain which have to make people stand with legs apart and the curtains is so cramp. Worst part the flooring is all on the same level ground which causes the whole bathroom to be wet after someone showers. Recommend other hotels one that at least have standard of simple request like extra pillow. Been all around the world and this is a first of such experiences.

my wife and i booked a double room for a leg of our honeymoon. The room we were given was a pullout couch. It was essentially half of a suite. No bed. Nobody pays to stay in a European hotel to sleep on a pullout sofa. A pullout sofa is simply not a double bed. A bed is a bed and a sofa is still a sofa. When we attempted to have the rooms switched the front desk wanted to hassle us about it. When our room were so graciously switched. The bathroom was obviously not cleaned. Holes were visible in both the tub and the tile in the bathroom. The grout on the tile was clearly filthy as well. Our refrigerator had cardboard taped to the front of it. You can tell this place once was decent maybe 40 years ago. No effort or money has gone in to maintain this hostel in the meantime however.
