When we signed up for the expedition with Arctic Outlaws, we had no previous knowledge of backcountry skiing or camping in snow. Esben took a lot of time to teach us about the dresscode, the equipment to use, proper skiing technique and everything else there is to know. The first night temperatures dropped to -19 degrees, but thanks to the right equipment we were not cold. The nature on the trip was amazing, and from the viewpoint on the second day we could see Norway, Finland and Russia at the same time. Overall, we learned a lot and enjoyed the group we were with. We even did a few tours on our own after having learned so much from Esben. We can highly recommend doing a ski expedition with him.

It was a really nice trip! Esben is a guide who knows really well how to balance helping you out while also letting you explore and do stuff on your own. Our tour was really accessible for everyone and our varying amounts skill and knowledge were perfectly capitalized on. There were things learned as well, for example that clothing in a cold winter setting has to be flexible: You need to have less clothes on when moving and you need to put on clothes when resting. It was a great experience going outside the tracks. All in all very enjoyable!

I did the 5-Nights Expedition with Arctic Outlaws, the 3 middle nights in a spacious expedition tent. Esben had everything organized, and the whole trip was very succesful for me. Esben made sure that the trip was perfectly planned, not too hard, not too easy. We were skiing on trails, as well as going off-road. Great fun and challenging to try to navigate through untouched snow. Esben is a very easygoing man and enjoyable to be around. He has a great focus on getting down in pace, both to conserve your energy as well as slowing down mentally. After this expedition trip - where we didn't meet a single other person along the way! - I feel like getting more into nature to recharge the mental batteries. I was lucky to see the northern lights as well, great experience. Last stop was at Kirkenes Snowhotel - very impressive. I can sincerely recommend...

The biggest fear I had about going on a ski expedition and sleeping in Arctic temperatures was being cold. Usually, I get cold quite fast and spending two nights in the snow did not seem very attractive to me in the beginning. However, Esben was able to allay my fear in the briefing leading up to the expedition. Our group was provided with quality equipment including sleeping bags and tents. He showed us how to utilize our insulated water bottles, which we used during the day time to prepare our food, as hot bottles to be put in our sleeping bags to keep our feet warm at night. In the end, I managed to stay warm and enjoyed the two-day expedition at lot. Seeing the Northern Lights at night was definitely one of the highlights. I'm looking forward to...
