Staying with Anne Gerd is like capturing a time when conversation around the kitchen table held possibilities of serious discussion, informative dialogues and great humor. Anne Gerd is effortless in transitioning from hostess to lively friend encouraging the dialogue between her guests. There is no artifice or listed regulations on how to enjoy her home - there is a natural flow and ease to use whatever accommodations are available. She is a font of information and takes it as a personal challenge to investigate any topics a guest might query. But when it comes to nature and exploration of the countryside she is a well traveled and experienced native offering her guests an unimaginable cornucopia of hikes. Read moreI stayed at Anne's guesthouse for 4 nights and my experience surpassed all expectations. Anne was very helpful from the initial communication to the final good bye. She helped me get a cheap car rental from a local place, had excellent suggestions on things to do during the day and was already ready to help all the time. My room was very comfortable with beautiful views and there was a big living room next to it. We had great conversations with all the guests every morning when we planned for the day. The location is also very convenient; around 6 - 7 kms both from the ferry terminal in Stamsund and Leknes airport. Its reachable by public transport but to have more flexibility (and also to visit any part of Lofoten Islands), I will suggest renting a car. Thank you Anne for the pleasant experience and making me feel at home in Lofoten Islands. Already planning my next visit...
Read moreAnne Gerd keeps a wonderful establishment in a beautiful place. When you stay there you join her family. Our arrival was a fantastic start to our visit to Lofoten. We had missed our flight to Leknes, and when we called from Bodo, Anne Gerd's son volunteered to pick up our hire car and collect us off the ferry at Mosknes. When we finally arrived, Anne Gerd's brother-in-law had cooked a lovely Bacalao stew, which we were invited to eat. What a welcome!||The house is comfortable, with spacious dining room and sitting areas for all to share. Bedrooms are fine, but visitors should be aware that there are no en-suite bathrooms. Breakfasts are excellent, with a big spread of meats and cheeses, as well as scrambled eggs each morning.||But above all, Anne Gerd is a fine hostess, always ready to help with advice and ideas to make for a perfect...
