Jabal Akhdar Hotel فندق الجبل الاخضر — Hotel in Al Batinah South Governorate

This hotel is best suited for those looking for a decent budget friendly hotel for a family vacation. The location is on hill top, surroundings are very quiet and beautiful. It has enough parking space and also outside sitting areas for relaxing and witnessing the beauty of nature. It also provides an open barbecue area which is an add on for the barbecue lovers. The hotel has 2 floors with each floor having an outside sitting arrangements also. The hotel is neat and clean, and the staffs are very cooperative. I would like to mention one of the staffs who was from Nepal named Bahadur, who was very polite and friendly. He made sure that we get a warm and comfortable stay. We had booked the rooms inclusive of breakfast and dinner. In breakfast, however they had very limited options, but in dinner there were some good options to choose from. I would recommend to try Prawn Masala and Fish curry, they were super delicious. For kids they give a separate platter including chicken nuggets, fries and sausages. The location of this hotel is excellent, close to everything we wanted to visit. The room was a decent size, but carpet in Oman is unnecessary. No kettle or cups or teabags in room, but at least there was a little fridge. The bathroom was cold early in the morning and late at night, when outside temperature drops considerably, because of a constantly open air vent. The price paid was excessive for what we got, we stayed in better hotels for half the price in al-Masirah and Muscat, but we didn't have a choice because we booked late. We stayed here for one night during our visit to Jabal Akhdar. There were very few people apart from us that night.||||The rooms were basic but comfortable. The other family with us were vegetarians. The restaurant did not have many veg options for dinner and so the reception staff advised us to go to their other hotel in Jabal Akhdar (about 7-8 mins drive away) called Sama Hotel. This hotel was far better than our hotel and had a buffet layout for dinner.||||The breakfast was fine. If you are looking for just a place to sleep at night...this place serves the purpose. If you have vegetarians in your group....try some...
