We made our bookings online and chose the suites. Arrived at the hotel following Google map and got to know that hotel is located smack on the beachfront. Don't think many hotels have the kind of views that this hotel would afford.||No separate parking available for the guests. But the parking space at the front always had a slot available for our car.||We had booked 2 suites and had asked for interconnecting rooms. But when we got there, the person at the front desk apologetically informed us that the suites are located at either ends of the hotel and cannot be interconnecting. He offered interconnecting rooms which were right in front of the lift. We were so thankful for having taken up his offer the next morning when we saw the view from our balconies next morning. Breathtaking would be an understatement. ||Beds on the other hand, were a completely different story altogether. Same for the other room furniture as well, in both the rooms. Creaky beds that were very very uncomfortable to sleep in. Every time we move, we had to listen to a whole orchestra of creaks and whines!||Breakfast too wasn't worth much of a mention. No options available on the breakfast buffet for vegetarians. But there are restaurants around the hotel that offer a good spread for breakfast so that wasn't much of a problem. The restaurant near the Al Balid historical site deserves a special mention here since it is perhaps the best breakfast spread we have ever had. Continental menu, pleasant staff and tasty food with views to match. The place is perfect for any meal.||The city is just about 10 mins to get across by car and beyond lay mountains and seas with unmatched rustic elegance and beauty. You can never have enough of the place.||Rented car may perhaps be the best option to track all the off-beaten routes and roads up the mountains. Don't miss out on the water spouts and the sunset from high up the mountains. Unbeatable experience.||If there is one place we all wish to go back to, it...

Read moreWe stayed there during the Eid long weekend in August. The resort was disappointing. ||The good was :||1. the location : its right on the beach. Even if you go nowhere , you need to just step out of the lobby onto the beach. There were small places to sit and a life guard to keep things safe at all times. ||2. check in : we arrived late in the evening, check in was smooth , both for the room that was already prepaid and the room which we paid on the spot. ||3. staff : extremely polite & helpful , even when we were raising complaints they handled it competently and were always ready to help. ||4. breakfast : was good. decent selection. omelettes were especially good and the lady was really nice.||||The bad :||1. The room was filled with sand and we did have issues with the bed sheets and other linen provided. There were stain marks on the bed linen. There was no floor mat and on request, we were given a hand towel to put in front of the wash room. The mattress also had sand.||2. The first day we requested them to clean the room properly and left the hotel at 9. We came back at 5.15 and still the room was not cleaned. On inquiry we were told they were short of staff & cleaning would be complete before 6. Since we had a 20 month old with us who badly needed a nap, we said clean it fast & only then we will go to the room. || 3. Being short on staff, especially cleaning staff, during the extreme peak season - khareef + eid break , is completely unacceptable. ||4. wifi - the wifi inside the room was very very poor. We were told during check in that wifi in room is poor but in lobby it was good. Lobby is not where we rest , so i dont really get the point.|| 5. washroom : the other room booked by our cousins, had the same cleanliness issues. Also they were not getting hot water in the shower and the water was clogged in the shower. Finally they had to request another room or leave. The staff was unable to accommodate the request until the last day because they were...
