Staying in this hotel was one of my worse experiences so far when it comes to
First of all this hotel does certainly not deserve a 4 stars rating and this is because of the overall feel to it, the decor, the communication and the service in general.
I booked what they call an “executive suite with kitchen”, only for the kitchen to be a sort of a few empty shelves, a sink and a cooker. No kitchenware, fridge or dishwasher as described in the advert. There was only a dysfunctional tiny minibar fridge under the TV.
I requested many times to have some kitchenware but none was provided. I ended up buying myself a few things from the shop.
Fair enough I got a quitter room as I requested the last week of my stay. I spent however 4 first nights in a room overlooking the highway and despite the double glazing it was impossible to have a good nigh sleep because of the noise and I had to get myself ear plugs too!
They finally changed me to a quitter room overlooking the mountain, which was very nice to be honest and the bed was very large and very comfortable. However, I was horrified and utterly disgust to find a blood stain in the middle of the sheet. Obviously they have not changed the sheets from previous customers! (Probably and understandably having sex in their last day). I did not want really the housekeepers to get into trouble as I heard they are so badly paid, so I left a note on the bed with the remark. When I came back, I found a note of apology from the housekeeping manager who assured me I have new sheets now. I was though expecting a call or a face to face explanation, but they just ignored it.
People at the reception and especially the two Asian ladies were just pathetic.
To be fair to everyone, there were a few nice people over there who were always kinder and greet you whenever they see you.
All in all, I would advise to avoid this hotel. There are many places around were the treatment is far better and the stay probably cheaper.
There are other issues but I think this is enough to...
Read moreDear management,
We are staying in room 115. 22 April to 24 April.
In my booking I specially mentioned that we are on honeymoon trip. And it was a request though that some special arrangements can be done.
Which turned out to be of no use.
Entering the room we see no bathroom amenities like bath robe. No tooth brush. No amenities placed.
The minibar is empty. Why do you even have fridge in room?
Fruit basket. You don't have in room. May be cost cutting.
Snacks or refreshments. You did not provide. You can charge whatever is used by guests. But you do not have this either.
Later I got to know it's no smoking hotel and you don't have even single room in hotel with smoking room. Reception shows me politely that I should go to open parking area on road and smoke there. But he was polite... He did saybsorry also. 😂😂😂.
We went for swimming but water was dirty. With bird wings no overflow no water circulation. We thought may be in evening it will be clean. But just now received a letter stating sorry again😂😂😂. Swimming pool is under maintenance. Amazing amazing. That was.
Your restaurant for b fast today. At 10 am Most of the dishes are not replenished. We have to run around stewards and ask for fruits for tea for milk for boiled eggs.
At sharp at 1030 all buffet is cleared. Dinner Buffet cleared 10 pm sharp.
Ok I understand you have strict rules may be.
But how about you claiming this property 4 star without providing a comfort to your guests.
We are highly disappointed with your hotel. We would checkout tomorrow and check in some other hotel.
Your team seriously ruined this trip and memories we wanted to create during this trip.
Feel very very polite sorry for your...
Read moreHaffa House Hotel is one of Muscat's oldest 3-star hotels, centrally located in Ruwi, making it ideal for business or budget travelers wanting easy city access. The hotel offers good ambience with nice city views from many rooms. While the pricing is attractive for its location, the facilities and rooms are generally dated and in need of refurbishment, with furnishings and carpets showing their age.
Staff hospitality stands out; most guests appreciate the reception and service. Rooms are reported as old but clean, although some guests mention musty odors, worn carpets, and occasional maintenance issues. The hotel has amenities like free WiFi, parking, a pool, gym, and a buffet restaurant, plus in-room basics such as air conditioning and minibar.
Food and breakfast reviews are mixed to negative. Many guests find the breakfast inadequate, with limited and unappetizing choices—some say it's the hotel's weakest point. However, a few reviews (mainly older or from guests with different expectations) say the breakfast is satisfactory or good. Still, if food quality is important, look elsewhere. The central location means better dining options are available nearby in Ruwi, including popular Indian and Asian restaurants.
Summary for prospective guests:
Pros: Historic property, great central location, decent city views, helpful staff, generally clean.
Cons: Very old building and rooms and bit of furnitures, frequent maintenance and cleanliness complaints, sub-par breakfast buffet, dated facilities.
Suitable for short stays focused on location and price, not for those prioritizing modern comforts or...
