Another fantastic stay with impeccable personal service! ||We returned again to The Sheraton. It has to be our favourite hotel in Muscat. The staff are simply wonderful. So friendly and helpful. Its an absolute pleasure to stay here.||We again had a standard room on floor 14 which i recommend for the views. This time we faced the mountains and highway south west over looking the swimming pool.||The room was as expected. Very clean. Fresh comfortable beds and very good blackout blinds. There's also a fridge and room service supply complimentary water every day. ||This time our bathroom had a better range of toiletries by I think Baylis & Brown. A lot better than the Chinese unbranded low quality individual bottles in the other rooms.||Upon check in we arrived very late at 1am. There was a problem with the hotels booking system. So we got the wrong room initially and they could not confirm the pre paid room status. This did cause me some embarrassment and anxiety but Im happy to say Sara at reception confirmed all was OK the next day. We of course moved rooms and this was swiftly actioned and assisted by housekeeping. Again it was a very professional and efficient service. I cannot express my gratitude for myself and my wife enough. ||The rest of our stay was superb of course. We enjoy the pool and the breakfast experience is always good. I prefer the omelette station and the chef Talal remembered us from last year as we come from Bahrain! It was lovely to see him again and he gets my omelette perfectly prepared! Shukran Talal! ||Our table server Rashid was another star! A lovely chap and he always had a smile. Nothing was any trouble for him and we hope to see him again next year.||The breakfast restaurant Manager Agnes was also lovely. Such a nice professional manner. It was superb to be greeted by her each morning. We hope to see her again next year.||Facility wise we always enjoy the outside pool and the gym is fantastic. Never too crowded.||Our room was serviced at our request. We enjoyed the valet parking services and also what I really like is the availability of flavoured water and coffee at reception during the day. Its a wonderful extra little touch. ||Even at checkout it was a brilliant experience. We asked for a later checkout and it was granted without problem. I am a Bonvoy member so I think membership has its privileges of which i am very humbled and grateful. As we had a later flight at checkout we were even offered a drink from the café while we waited a while before making our way. Such a fantastic and unexpected gesture.||Our experience overall was 5 star. The staff, wow superb. Again All worthy of mention. Talal, Agnes Sara & by no means least Rashid.||Shukran to you all. We will see you again next year...
Read moreMy last stay at the Sheraton Oman Hotel was a t least 12 or 14 years ago until this most recent trip.
The hotel was closed for 10 years supposedly for renovations and if that were the case the Sheraton Oman must hold the worlds record for the longest hotel renovation in the history of man kind.. Well they reopened last October , 2016 and it was well worth the wait!!
Once you get to the hotels main entrance you are greeted by a cheerful bell boy with a great smile and he takes your bags to the lobby. The lobby is very, very nice and nicely decorated with a large Reception Desk. The check in process is fast and efficient. Being a Gold Starworld Preferred Guest member I received a small up grade to the SPG Floor.
If you are a Gold member of Starworld program you may be disappointed as I was as they do not recognize gold members to use the Club Lounge; the free Breakfast option; or the Club Floor Room upgrades.
The room was nicely decorated and of average size. The windows are quite small and there was a nice small work desk. Unfortunately the work desk should have an office type of chair instead of a normal living room chair! It was very hard in moving! What surprised me, especially knowing they had just recently reopened, is that they had a tub in the bath room and not a shower stall. I have never felt safe or comfortable using a tub for my showers…must be my old age! The bath amenities were sufficient for my short 2 night stay.
The Sheraton king size bed offered a good nights sleep, so all-in-all it was a pleasant stay.
There are only two restaurants opened at this time, one is the main buffet restaurant called the Courtyard and the other is the award winning Asado South American Steak House. There is no bar and a Tea Library is set to open soon…
The hotel also boast an nice outdoor pool which is surrounded by many fountains as well as a smaller indoor pool. There are two workout rooms one strictly for ladies and the other for men. There looks like a great Spa, unfortunately I had not time to use that facility.
The hotel utilizes a full time Concierge who’s service I used many times. Mr. Riyad is very efficient and extremely professional in his duties.

Read moreOur recent stay at Sheraton Oman Hotel was quite underwhelming, especially considering its 5-star status.
Arrival Experience: From the moment we arrived, the experience felt disappointing. There was no one at the entrance to assist with our luggage, and the receptionist’s demeanor was dry and unwelcoming.
Room Service Issues: We requested a bowl of yogurt for our baby, but surprisingly, they informed us it was chargeable. In our experience, baby food is typically complimentary in luxury hotels. Later, they sent a pastry as a gesture, but unfortunately, they rang the bell when we were asleep — disturbing our rest.
When ordering room service, I requested the bill to be added to our room account, but the staff insisted I pay immediately because my account was "not opened." Worse, his payment machine didn’t work, and he returned to disturb us again while we were eating.
Dining Experience: To avoid further confusion, we chose to dine at their poolside restaurant. We ordered dessert, which took over 20 minutes to arrive. Since our child was getting sleepy, we asked for it to be sent to our room. When it arrived, we were shocked to find we were charged 10.5 OMR instead of the 7 OMR listed on the menu.
Facilities: The indoor pool had restricted access for ladies between 9:00 to 10:00 p.m., but when I attempted to visit at 8:00 p.m., I was informed it was already ladies' time — adding to the confusion.
At the outdoor pool, only one bubble bed was functional out of four, reducing the overall experience.
Service During Checkout: During checkout, the staff assisting with our luggage seemed disinterested and didn’t even offer a simple goodbye — something you’d expect as a basic courtesy at a 5-star hotel.
Positive Aspects: Despite the service flaws, the room itself was comfortable, and we did enjoy our time inside and outside the room.
Conclusion: While the Sheraton Oman Hotel offers a comfortable stay with decent facilities, the overall service experience failed to meet the expectations of a premium hotel. With better staff training and improved attention to guest needs, this hotel could provide a far...
