The Radisson has not responded to my complaint of poor treatment. I called Radisson Worldwide Customer Service on May 30, 2018 and still have not received a response as of June 1, 2018.
The treatment I received here was reprehensible. Just before leaving on May 21, I had poured some water on the bed in my room. So, according to their policy, they required me to pay $100 even though I had rented the room for another 16 hours. Nonetheless, I had paid for it. However, the people at the reception desk did not treat me with any manners. No words such as "please" and "thank you". They told me that I have to pay and were extremely rude. Also, when I spoke with the business manager on the phone, he simply told me I had to pay and passed the phone back to the person at the reception.
I thought that this is truly not representative of Radisson Hotels. So, when I called the Radisson worldwide customer service number, they stated that Radisson Colon is a franchise and that they can only pass on my complaint. As of now (May 28), I still have not received a response from Radisson Corporate or the hotel in Colon for the complaint that I put in on May 21 (Complaint # 3337593). This is truly disappointing. I would only warn others planning to stay here to be careful, just because the hotel says Radisson does not mean that you will be treated to the same level as other Radisson Hotels throughout the world.
Mr. Castro, the general manager, claimed that they spoke with me about my complaint on the treatment. NO ONE HAS CALLED ME. Therefore, I warn others that they treat customers horribly and then cover up their behavior online!!!! Extremely disappointing and not representative...
Read moreYesterday I cycled over 80 kilometersFrom Gamboa to the Radison in Colon. I wanted to stay two nights. Before I entered the hotel I washed my face, because after one day cycling one does not look too clean.
I asked for a room and agreed on the price. Since my cash money was stowed away somewhere in my panniers, I asked if you could pay after I had brought my panniers to the room.
That was not possible and she looked as if I had asked for her underpants:-)
Anyhow, the font desk manager gave me permission to first bring the panniers to the room.
I have a very special prototype bike that I am testing for the Dutch brand Koga, so I asked: "And where can I savely park my bike?" She pointed at the front of the building, just a parking lot in front of the hotel that was not secure. I explained that the bike was very special and that they probably have a room somewhere in this large building that is more save than the street?
Anyhow, they were not so kind to let me park my bike at a save place. I decided to go to another hotel. It was the Meryland hotel; basic but at least with people with a sincere smile.
I have worked for Krasnapolsky hotel in Amsterdam; a five star hotel. We did some research about what is important for customers in a top hotel. Well, that is de friendlieness of the employees. We arrived around 5pm and our room wasn't ready yet but they tried to make up for it by providing us with complimentary dinner for that night. This is a great example of their great customer service. The hotel was located right by the ship port so we'd see cruise ships come and go as well as industrial/commercial container ships. There is a Super 99 supermarket right next to the hotel which was very convenient for shopping. The hotel was not overcrowded and was fairly quiet other than being able to hear the music from the ballrooms despite us being on the 5th floor. They provided complimentary breakfast every morning which was nice. Our room was larger than we expected and we liked having 2 full bathrooms. The tub/shoeer setup in ours was weird though and had a leaking showerhead. Despite this, we were happy to have good water pressure and uninterrupted hot water. The pull out bed in the couch quite old, stained and jammed so it took quite a bit of force to get the bed folding mechanism out. When I finally did, the mattress was old and completely worn and you could feel the springs within. Thankfully our kids are young and under 70lbs each so they didn't suffer because it would have been incredibly uncomfortable for any adult.
