Panama Beach Lodge Hostel — Hotel in Distrito San Carlos

I stayed at the hostel during the week (checked in Monday night and checked out Wednesday afternoon). I booked my own room and it was very spacious with a queen size bed, sofa bed and desk. Also, the room came with a/c which was very nice.

I'm rating the hostel 4 out of 5 stars because they only offer their food services on the weekend which was a bummer for me but there are other hotels with food nearby. Unfortunately, there is no vending machine at the hostel for snacks or drinks. Also, I was the only person at the hostel during my two night stay and felt very lonely even though the front desk staff was at the hostel most of the day.

Best, affordable way to escape the city on the weekends. My husband and I go almost every weekend. We can take our own food and use the kitchen OR buy yummy food at the onsite bar and sandwich shop or at another restaurant less than 100 meters away. The AC makes the rooms cool for good sleeping. It is always clean! There are plenty of common area places to relax and/or socialize. The locals are very friendly. Good swimming and surfing. Popote Wave Spot (the best surf school around) is on site. The property manager is very efficient and ALWAYS HAPPY! He responds quickly to requests and will sing/whistle while he works.
