We (couple 41 & 50) stayed at Hotel Bali Panama for two nights in March 2014. We paid $40 a night for a room with a bathroom, 24-hour air-conditioning and cable TV. Our room had three single beds and the two we slept on were average comfortable. The hotel is old but clean. Our room was large but the bathroom was small and there was no hot water, although the hotel advertises hot water. The hotel is on a busy noisy street but our room was toward the back and we heard onky the noisiest cars. It was mostly quiet during the night. The staff was friendly and helpful but did not speak English. The hotel is one minute walking from the cathedral, some restaurants and ATMs. It is in a commercial district but not a lot of dining options nearby, even less on Sundays (everyone ate at the Chinese restaurant). Taxis around town cost $1-$2 and $5-$7 to nearby towns. Compared to the bigger hotels in Chitre, Hotel Bali Panama seems like an average value for what you get - a basic central hotel. We would stay...

My husband and I stayed there for 2 nights.||The hotel is in a good location, just a few doors away from Miami Mike's. The room was a good size, the air con was cold (and adjustable) and the water was hot. The TV worked and even had a few channels in English. Our room (25) smelled a bit musky but otherwise it seemed clean. The beds were comfy :)||The staff wasn't really around but that wasn't a problem for us. We just came and went as we pleased. It might be problematic if you expect a high level of personal service. ||Overall I'd recommend if you need a...
Read moreThe hotel is in a great location in front of the church, which meant we were right by the Carnival festivities but far enough that it wasn't noisy. The room was spacious, beds were comfy and the room and bathroom were clean. The hotel is run by a lovely family (English speaking) and the staff is also very pleasant. We enjoyed the Indonesian food, especially the fried rice and Bali soup, and it was a much needed break from local Panamanian food. No hot water, which is typical at this price range, but...
