My wife and I stayed here from November 18-21. Check in was smooth and easy, and they whisked us out to our room on the 3rd wing. The room was hardly a suite, it lacked many necessities for certain, and needs updating badly. The furniture was shabby, worn, discolored and dirty. There were only 2 plates, no silverware, only 2 glasses, no coffee cups, (if you wanted to use the coffee maker), light bulbs were out, no soap, no tissues, only one roll of TP, and the safe didn't work and there was rust all around the room. The curtains would not close withing 8 inches of each other, so the sun greeted us daily. The bed was comfortable, and the AC was excellent, on the positive side. The terrazza restaurant was a constant battle, as the menu stated that you could have a side with entrees, and then they always tried to double charge you for it, so then you had to argue about it. At the tables that were outside, the ant problem was awful. I killed at least 75 ants while waiting for my omelet, and when I grabbed a sugar packet out of the holder, there were dozens of ants that came out with it. Gross and unhealthy. The menu was not friendly at all to vegetarians, pretty much grilled cheese, margherita pizza, and a side salad were the only choices for the 2 restaurants. On the positive side, the golf was tremendous. we got lucky both days on the weekend and the sun came out, and the course was wonderful. It's not often you get to play with crocs on about 8 of the holes. There are several great and memorable holes, especially #8 and #17, both par 3 uphill shots over very scary ponds with crocs and turtles milling about. We did not take the shuttle to the beach, regrettably. Driving in the neighborhood is a real challenge, as the roads are simply awful, full of giant potholes, and unpaved sections where your rental car may bottom out, so go very slow and be ready...

Read moreI can't write a review of our room, as it was booked through Air B&B, not with the hotel, so this is just about the hotel part. It is an aging 'luxury' - showing its age with areas needing repairs. The complex is spread out with 3 stories of suites - some with balconies, many without. We stayed there mostly because they have pickleball courts, and the couts are pretty good - if you know when to play and can get in with other local players. The pool area is also very nice - different pools and lots of room to spread out. We did not have pool towels provided in our rental unit and there weren't any available at the pool. The gym looked pretty good, although we didn't use it, or the sauna. There's a good restaurant and bar on site, and the one meal we had at the restaurant was decent and not over priced. We only ended up staying 2 days because our accommodation rental was terrible, so didn't get to enjoy more time at the 'luxury club', or take their shuttle to the beach. The location is OK - but about a 10 minute walk if you want to get to the beach, or else take the shuttle. Seems most people who stayed were golfers. Biggest complaint was difficulty getting taxis to come pick us up - and even when we had asked the concierge to arrange a ride for us a day in advance (checking out to another location), it never arrived and the guy at the desk was of very...
