Stay as far from this hotel as you possibly can. This is a joke, I still do not understand the good reviews. We made a reservation at this hotel for 7 days as we are on a business trip. The night we arrived at the hotel, we were moved from our bedroom close to midnight to a different one because the A/C was not working. Once in the new bedroom... not only the A/C wasn’t any better which prevented us to have a good nights rest, but I personally started to perceive a funny smell coming from our mattress. That night I told my husband that the mattress smelled like urine. Next day we were up early for business and did not get back to the room until night time. We took a shower and got into bed. As soon as we got into bed and I covered myself with the comforter, the Irineo smell was overwhelming, since it was already so late at night we decided to stay there. Another night that we could not rest. Early next day, before leaving for our meetings, I decided to take the covers off of the bed to inspect. To my surprise, I found that the sheets where stained with black and yellow stains and a the urine smell coming from the mattress was pungent. I immediately called the front desk and ask for the manager, whom I was told, was not in yet. The girl at the front desk came up to the room and I showed her the sheets and asked her to take off her mask so she could smell the urine smell coming from the mattress. The answer: we are very sorry, we will move you to a different room. Well... we had to go work so we decided to make the move when we got back to the hotel. So that night, once again, we moved to a different room. Everything looked fine at night, once I woke up in the morning I noticed the sheets were also stained and the carpet looks really dirty. Next day after being out the whole day, we came back to a hot room. My husband called the front desk again and their technician made his way to the room to do a “re-set” of the system. During all of this time and through all of the issues, the hotel has never offered to upgrade us, give us a discount or anything else other than apologies. We are Marriot members and as such we thought that we would enjoy certain privileges, I guess I was wrong. By now, we are 3 nights away from flying back home, and even when I was ready to pack my bags again, and leave to a different hotel, my husband decided it was to much of a hassle and we still have to much work to do so we should ride it out. But I can say that NEVER AGAIN! This place will never see me or my money again and I will definitely write a formal complaint with Marriot once I get back home. Please do yourself a favor and stay away from this...
Read moreIt had already been a long day of travel, but I was excited to get to my room to drop off my bags and go explore Panama a little. We were only there for less than 24 hours so time was super valuable. Upon entering the hotel, it seemed a little dated, dirty, and worn. The location was extremely convenient since it was so close to the airport ($8-9 Uber black ride, $4-5 Uber X) and we would be there just to rest our head before our 9am flight. After waiting for 25 minutes for the two people in front of me to be checked in (only one desk person), I handed my passport and credit card over and I was promptly informed that I did not have a reservation. Instantly I looked on my Bonvoy app to confirm I did in fact have a reservation, but that was not enough for him. Even though I gave him the confirmation number and showed him the reservation for a two bed room. I had to go through my emails to find the confirmation email with room rate. I even checked in via the app to try to expedite the process and showed him I was now checked-in. Finally after about 30 minutes he gave me a room, while a nice line of 5 or 6 pilots and flight attendants waiting to check-in mounded behind me. I apologized to them while departing to my room, the desk guy did appear to care they were waiting. I was traveling with my elderly mother, so I just wanted to get her to the room so she could relax for a minute. After opening the door, guess what I was in a single king bed room, definitely not what I booked. I left my mom at the door so we did not have to lug our bags downstairs again. The line was not down to 4 people. Luckily they saw me and the pilots felt bad and let me jump in line. Not once did the deskman apologize for anything. He even had an attitude about it. ||The beds were acceptable, but not as comfortable as other Courtyards I have stayed. The room looked well worn. The hallway did not even look like it was vacuumed, food particles were on the ground!||||The next morning breakfast was great for a Courtyard, the only bright star for this dump. The server was extremely attentive and pleasant. The food was pretty good. Maybe the bar was set so low with the other experiences here.||I should have went with my instincts and kept my original reservations that were deeper in the city. When I come back to Panama, this will definitely not...
