Villa Condesa Del Mar — Hotel in Saboga

Positive:

Amazing views of the sea and easy access to a beautiful beach

Nice pool you can enjoy with sun loungers

The one guy speaking English brought us from the ferry port to the house. He was the only one at least appearing to care about the guest experience

but that's unfortunately about it.

Negative:

Room wasn't properly cleaned in some areas, we found dead bugs and clothing from the people staying before us, kitchen was not clean at all

The "included breakfast" consists of two eggs and two pieces of toast OR one pancake (can't have both) made from powder. You'll also get a small bowl of apple and some jam (which was open and never cooled) and one black coffee - that's it. No milk for your coffee, no additional spreads, no juice, not even water. An absolute joke. We saw people bringing their own spreads for breakfast - never seen that before. When we asked for a couple more eggs we were told they charge 13$. Yes, 13$ for two eggs and two pieces of toast without anything.

The property is in a state of disrepair. Broken tiles everywhere, everything is being fixed in questionable ways. For example the slightly dangerous stairs to the beach

Beach is great and definitely usable, but there is trash in some places that could easily be removed (but no one does it)

Basic things missing. There are two gas burners but no way to light them, a weird assortment of dishes, maybe a laundry rack would be nice?

No menus anywhere. If you find an employee (which often you just don't) you don't really know what you can order or how much they charge for it.

-No hot water. We told the only employee that understood us. He said he would look into it. Never heard about it again and still no hot water until checkout.

Don't even think about using the gym

Many broken sunloungers at the beach. No one seems to care about replacing or repairing them.

Except for one guy, nobody spoke a single word of english. But that's ok for me if I travel to a foreign country I have to expect this.

Weirdly no reception area. Feels more like a hostel or B&B. People were bringing their own food and drinks from the supermarkets. Don't expect a hotel experience.

Our flat did have a lock (I wouldn't count this as a positive, seems pretty basic lol)

Wifi wasn't great but worked in most areas

We were upgraded to the "honeymoon suite". Great views but one bed was in the same room as the toilet&shower with no separation?? weird

I don't like writing negative reviews, but we did pay a lot to stay here. This has NOTHING to do with the way they market this accomodation on booking.com and other websites. You really should not be spending the money they are charging here. We also heard other guests complaining. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this accomodation until they take care of it or their guests in a better way. Looking at the most recent reviews should give you enough...

Very excited to come here and spend a quiet relaxed time with the family. The photos are completely outdated, and to pay that much for a place per night, you should wish to have great time without any problems. In the VIP suite, the “kitchen” is basically non functioning, and very old. The A/C in the VIP seem odd because they don’t work properly and need to be both on to feel somewhat cool . The floor is outdated but the bed was VERY comfortable, and the view there was amazing. The shower pressure for the water was very hard and the bidet did not work . We had to constantly ask for toilet paper. Then in the main room, we switched back upstairs and the two smaller rooms both had a/c problems. The one that had a portable a/c had problems,because where the hole is, it is not sealed properly, therefore , letting hot air in. In the room with an attached bathroom on the outside, the air wasn’t working, they brought someone to fix it and it still didn’t work . It worked for 3 hours and then stopped. The water smelt disgusting . That room also had an outdoor shower, but no cover for the top, so at night if you turned the light on all the bugs went straight there. The room said it could sleep 4 as there was a bunk bed type, however, no adult could sleep at the top because they would hit their heads. There was dust EVERYWHERE, the lamps needed to be dusted and many things needed to be fixed. The kitchen was lacking appliances , all pots, but no covers except for one. For paying this much you would expect some updated items but no . The kitchen cabinets seem to be falling . The cutlery seemed like they were hand me downs, I washed everything I used because it just didn’t seem clean.

The wall by the pool is about to collapse and they have it held up by 2 branches . The stairs to head to the beach is a disaster waiting to happen, and also the photos make it seem like you have a private beach, you don’t so don’t assume that. Also we had no locks on our door,nor in the vip suite, so we just had to “trust” everyone, which I didn’t like , because when something gets stolen, who is to blame? Their excuse was it was very safe, and they had cameras , but that hasn’t stopped robbers before… Theres so much more to say but overall, I would not come back here, the one good thing about this was their caretakers marcela and sebastien who were very helpful and tried to make us...

It pains me to have to give such a bad review but we tried to go through AirB&B and did not get the answer we expected. The place is pure and simple fraud. It looks like a bomb went off from the moment you arrive to the villa. The moment we arrived the excuses started, we can not get people to work, we can not get materials we can not, bla, bla, bla, blame was put somewhere other than themselves, and this would have been forgotten or perhaps understood had the owner cared to to show her face and apologise but she choose to hide in the apartment below the pool the whole time we were there. I do not recommend this place for any person who is elderly or have children, even teens playing around could loose their life. There is no water, for drinking and some days you might have to go without a shower or leave the dishes on the sink. The pool was empty when we arrived and we ere promise that it would take a day to fill it back. Four days later you could have used it but not filled yet. The noise at the veranda is quite annoying coming from the aircon units, poorly design terraces still under construction add to the place a sense that we were ripped off. 1400 dollars a night, the pictures on AirB&B do not match the reality. Drop the a 1000- and you will not feel ripped off. Again a simple apology and a discount would have been enough. Do not recommend this place at all, the pictures do not match the reality plus bring your own water, shampoo, food the stores have very poor choice, bath soap and a sharp knife. Perhaps the owner should take a trip to the virgin Islands, Saint Barth, Bali, or Rome and see what US 1400 can get you, just saying...just suggestion. If you are planing to come here, the beach is worth the trip, the view if wonderfull but demand photos of the constructions, cleanliness of the pool area and above all...
