Our room was basic, but functional and clean - excellent considering the price point. The bathroom was also quite spacious and the hot shower works fine. There was no fan in our room, so it might get stuffy if the weather gets warm. WiFi was weak from our room on the third floor.
The owner was very hospitable, and offered us coffee or tea when we arrived early, as well as every morning. We also appreciated being allowed to check in early after arriving in Abancay on an overnight bus. When we asked whether the hotel could call a taxi for us (to get to Ampay National Sactuary), the owner even went down to the street to flag down a taxi for us.
The hotel is located in what seems like a commercial district with lots of shops around. There is a market nearby (Mercado De Productos De Americas), and a smattering of eateries and street food vendors along/near the main road (Carretera Longitudinal de la Sierra Sur).
