Hostal Mica — Hotel in Abancay

Our room was basic, but functional and clean - excellent considering the price point. The bathroom was also quite spacious and the hot shower works fine. There was no fan in our room, so it might get stuffy if the weather gets warm. WiFi was weak from our room on the third floor.

The owner was very hospitable, and offered us coffee or tea when we arrived early, as well as every morning. We also appreciated being allowed to check in early after arriving in Abancay on an overnight bus. When we asked whether the hotel could call a taxi for us (to get to Ampay National Sactuary), the owner even went down to the street to flag down a taxi for us.

The hotel is located in what seems like a commercial district with lots of shops around. There is a market nearby (Mercado De Productos De Americas), and a smattering of eateries and street food vendors along/near the main road (Carretera Longitudinal de la Sierra Sur). It was straightforward to walk to the main plaza (Plaza de Armas); we also walked to/from the bus terminal...

Upon arrival, the view from the street is not good. To gain access to the front desk you have to climb a flight of stairs. The hotel does not have a modern appearance there either. ||However, the room size was adequate, it had a new flat screen tv, and the wifi worked great. I think the beds were new as well. In the bathroom, there was plenty of very hot water from a central heater, not the dangerous electric heater at the shower head that one commonly...

i stayed at the hotel for 2 nights with my friends and the staff was awesome, they helped me a lot with everything, the rooms greats, the breakfast, oh my god so delicious, but the most important thing is the warmth of the staff, i forgot my sun glasses in the hotel and they took my sun glasses all the way until the airport just to deliver it before i left , they were fantastic, i have no words to say thank you to that magnificent team, Mica is the...
