Hotel Montecarlo — Hotel in Casma

Of the 7 hotels I strayed in during my month-long trip to Peru, this one was the worst. Casma doesn’t have many hotels, and the one I preferred was booked for the holiday weekend. The entrance to Montecarlo is a long, dark corridor. The reception area is small and dark, and the receptionist sits inside what looks like a cage. He looked grimy. Creepy. I first thought I was the only guest in the hostal, but it filled up at night. The room was small, but clean. The fan faced the bed, so you couldn't avoid a steady blast of air. No way to moderate the fan. You could hear everything -- I mean everything-- in the other rooms. The best part of this hostal was Luis, the receptionist, who was very helpful with directions and transportation to Sechin. BTW, if you sit outside in Casma, you'll attract tiny flies or mosquitoes. I was greeted with a welcome to Casma by lady at desk in small but adequate foyer and shown options of spotless rooms on 1st floor. Estuvimos preguntando en varios hospedajes de la zona y los precios por una habitación matrimonial oscilaba en todos lados entre S/50 y S/55 la noche pero la verdad la gente que nos atendía muy mal educada y mala onda. La sra Jackeline del Montecarlo fue amable desde el principio y esa fue una de las razones por las que decidimos quedarnos acá. Tienen cochera que está a la vuelta del hostal, la habitación matrimonial por noche costó S/60 y la personal S/50 (no incluye desayuno). Habitaciones de tamaño regular, muy limpias, bonitas, baño con agua caliente muy limpio. La señal de wifi no es muy buena. Camas cómodas para pasar la noche. Lo único terrible de la noche es que nos despertaron 4.50am para que moviéramos el auto porque tenía que salir uno que está detrás, de lo peor! Pero los señores del hostal se disculparon al momento, igual fue un incidente bastante molesto. De ahí todo muy bien, en el 1er piso tienen cafetería con desayunos desde S/10. El cuarto cuenta con una mesita como para trabajar y si hace falta luz (la del cuarto es muy tenue) te colocan una lamparita que alumbra bastante).
