Domos Cordillera Blanca — Hotel in Independencia

We were lucky to stay as a family (6) at Domos Cordillera Blanca, a newly installed comfortable setting on the heights of Huaraz (quick 30’ drive up).|The domes are brand new, creatively designed, very bright with glass windows, and amazingly arranged with cosy decoration and warm beds!|They are located in a very peaceful and quiet environment with an amazing Cordillera scenery all around, which can even be contemplated from your bed!|Independent bathrooms with hot showers like at home.|You can easily spend a week trekking around with all the bucolic valleys and beautiful Lagunas (day treks), or Bertrand (the owner) will help you plan for longer adventures.|All other further trips easily accessible from Huaraz with a quick commute.|Wonderful breakfasts and meals served in the large dome well equipped with sofas and a nice wide view out too.|Very nice setting outside with a fire pit to gather around at night, and 2 alpacas to protect you!|Kuddos ans warm thanks to the hosts Tania and Bertrand whose attention to details and welcoming spirit made our stay a memorable part of our...

Le lieu idéal ou se détendre après ou avant une rando dans le parque huascaran ! 🗻🏕️

Un bon compromis pour dormir "à la belle étoile" sans avoir froid et avec plus de confort qu'en tente lors d'un trek. Les dômes sont tous très propres et les salles de bain également (il y a même un sèche cheveux à dispo, le 1er qu'on ait vu en 7 mois de voyage 🎉). Le lit est très confortable avec des couettes en plume d'oie (qui sentent bon la lessive, et même en étant enrhumé 😁). Prises et électricité dans tous les dômes.

Nous y avons séjourné seulement 1 nuit mais aurions aimé y rester plus longtemps. Le gérant Bertrand est suisse et est très accueillant et de bons conseils. Ancien géomètre, il est passionné de trails, randos et a même sa propre agence de tourisme. Nous avons eu un très bon feeling avec lui, et encore plus quand il nous a fait une raclette para la cena . En bons français, nous avons testé le vin chaud avant (vraiment excellent) et les prix des consommations sont très raisonnables, (souvent moins chers que dans un bar a huaraz). Nous avions prévu de nous reposer pendant notre séjour mais il nous a donné envie d'aller jusqu'à la laguna llaca (18-20 km a/r depuis les domes). Une belle rando et appréciable à faire sans prendre un moyen de transport, ou nous voyons les sommets enneigés du début à la fin (ou presque, depende de las nubes...).

Vraiment allez-y les yeux fermés et si vous êtes backpackers faites vous plaisir, c'est plus cher que les auberges certes mais pour clôturer un séjour à huaraz c'est vraiment sympa et vous aurez en animaux de compagnie 2 alpagas. (ça, y'en a pas dans les auberges) 🦙🦙 Il propose des box almuerzos pour vos randos a la journée ou repas midi si vous souhaitez manger sur place.

Pour y aller, vous devrez prendre un taxi (40 soles le trajet depuis huaraz pour 30 minutes sur une piste en mauvais état). Il organisera le trajet pour vous depuis votre hébergement ou autre à huaraz.

Endroit tres reposant, en plein cœur de la nature et au 1er spot pour admirer les montagnes. Nous songerons à y retourner si l'avenir nous permet de revenir au Pérou pour tester les différents treks de plusieurs jours, en saison sèche; et pour revoir Bertrand !

We had a wonderful time at domus cordillera blanca. ||Tanja and Betrand are perfect Hosts and very nice people. ||The food was very good, healthy and more then enough :) we had always tea and water available. ||||The “tents” are cosy and lovely decorated. Our bathroom was clean and we had hot water all the time.||The atmosphere in the evenings is fantastic. You can sit around the campfire and watch into the beautifully night sky. ||The two “pets” are also super cute :) ||||Bertrand organized a transport to the llaca lake for us,. we hiked the way back and enjoyed the beautiful landscape.||||All in one it’s really worth it ! ||||Thank you Tanja...
