Warari Hostel and Backpackers — Hotel in Independencia

The hostel itself is beautiful, hot showers, tea and water always available, really nice features; HOWEVER, it's far away from everything and no knows where it's located. By the end of our trip, I learned to say we were at Bichoalto (en la direccion de Wilcahauin). If you say Wilcahauin, no taxis will take you there because it's actually a pueblo 30 minutes away. The hostel has no breakfast and to get to dinner is difficult-you've got to get a taxi (which is as I've mentioned a difficult task both ways), all the tours want you to find a way to Huaraz in the morning, and the keeper of the hostel isn't very aware of how to help. There are two workers that are SOMETIMES there to help arrange tours or to get food delivered (a younger guy and a middle aged woman) but they aren't always there. Overall, nice hostel but they need a better connection with Huaraz (with taxis, tour information/pick ups, and food access) or at least advise people of the...

This hotel had clean rooms. However, the hotel is located far from the city centre. No restaurants, pub or bistro at walking distance. Our guide indicated that the neighbourhood is poor and unsafe after sunset. We arrived at night. The “hotel” had no snacks, no beverages, no drinks (no beer, wine, coke,...), no food to offer as it was just not available. Except, we could order from one restaurant in the city centre what was delivered one hour later. No own choice of restaurant. Food was poor, cold and not very cheap. The only drink offered was coca tea. |The WiFi was not working properly.....|In general stay at Huaraz was not worth going there seen the distance from Lima. Only for mountain climbers...
