We arrived to have room waiting and hot tea ready. Rooms are large, have super warm blankets and rugs to keep the feet warm at night and in the morning.||||It is a fair distance from Leymebamba Plaza. Mototaxi rides were S/5 one way. Getting back to town can be more of a challenge. We were able to get a mototaxi on the return. The other time we went to town we followed the walking trail signs (not the road) back to the upper town and from there caught a mototaxi. Despite the distance from town, it is 100% worth the experience and hospitality!||||Ayako is amazing. From her big smile to her wonderful breakfasts (even at 5am). When our combivan had not arrived, she even drove to town to see where it was. It arrived before she had returned ... so we never were able to say ... so THANK YOU Ayako!||||By the way breakfast was fresh healthy bread, fantastic coffee, fruits, avos, fresh baked granola ... makes me hungry just typing this.||||A very special thank you to Dr. Sonia Guillen who was there at Casa Mallqui and provided some very special insight and perspective about the Museum, the mummies and general archaeology. What an amazing time with her.||||We were able to get out to Laguna de lost Condores on a 3 day adventure. That experience + Museum + Casa Mallqui made this the most special and memorable of our time in...
Read moreAyako runs the most beautiful, tranquil and comfortable hotel we stayed in for our entire month trip in Peru, touched away in a corner of north Peru. Totally worth the trip as there is so much to see nearby with Archeological remains from the Chachapoya civilisation (Kuelap, Revash, Ollape, La Jalca and leimembamba Museum) and trekking in the surrounding mountains.||||The food is exquisite, homegrown, homemade and all Peruvian inspired from the freshly baked bread from the kitchen at breakfast to delicious jams, vegetables and sauces made from her kitchen garden. Daily fresh herbal teas and mineral water coolers are a lovely touch. Every evening, in the cooler season, there is a warming fire with good books to read. ||The rooms are impeccably clean and well thought out. ||Ayako’s garden is something out of a fairy-tale with humming birds feeding from the copious flowers in the morning and dappled light coming through the papaya and tree tomato trees in the evening. ||||The thing that makes this such a special hotel is that Ayako’s loving care makes you feel like you are at home. ||||Thank you for the most...
Read moreThe hotel is right next to the Leymebamba Museum, famous of mummy`s coleccition. The building, which has been restored from a family residence, has a warm atmosphere and is very cozy. The rooms are simple but well equipped, the quality of linens is great and I was able to heal tiredness of the trip. The homemade meal of the owner Miss Ayako is healthy and very delicious. There isn't such a luxury, like as organic vegetables and herbs grown in the backyard fields quickly climb the table. Also, Ayako taught me not only about sightplaces but also about the various peruvian cultures and customs, and was able to spend a very significant time. The night on Leymebamba gets cold. But that's why it is more fun to drink wine in front of the fireplace. Sometimes the voice without the owl sounds, the best space where everything is surrounded by nature. When I visit to Leymebamba agein, I will always return here. Thank you Ayako....
