Such a peaceful place to enjoy a hot beverage and relax. We ordered hot chocolates, chicken sandwiches and a brownie. The hot chocolates and sandwiches were good. Got chocolates are made from Inca del Sur mix, and made with milk. The sandwiches were nice with avocado, sliced chicken breast, mayo, mustard, lettuce and tomato. The only thing lacking was the bread, which was too sweet and stale, but good bread is practically non-existent in most parts of Perú and Latin America in general. Now on to the brownie. I was really set on having this brownie, and it was the first thing we ordered. After we finished our sandwiches and hot chocolates we waited a couple minutes before looking around for the worker, hoping our brownie would be ready soon. She had disappeared for a little bit, and we were fine with waiting as the terrace is beautiful. When she returned we reminded her about our brownie order, and she told us we got the last one ( a bad omen). We were happy with this and she put it in the microwave to warm it up... for 2 minutes! The brownie was almost literally on fire, as a cloud of smoke puffed out of the microwave and the precious last brownie was lost. We laughed about it and paid our bill. Our only wish is that this place was closer to town (Leymebamba) as it is hands down the best eating experience offered in the area, and location is pristine. The hummingbird watching is wonderful.

We arrived on a Friday around 13:00. It took 30 minutes before someone arrived to serve us. She didn't seem happy to help us. There was nothing to eat but small brownie pieces. We had counted on having lunch. Such a pity, because this cafe was beautiful and has potential. It might be better to limit opening times in order to be able to receive visitors in a good manner and to offer all items on the menu.

The BEST coffee and food in Leymebamba. Just across the street from the Museo Leymebamba (Centro Mallqui), and much better than the cafe at the museum. Suffering from WiFi-anxiety because the folks at the museum didn't want to share the "internal WiFi" password? Kenticafe has WiFi and they are happy to share password when you visit.

Great setting for this little cafe that we absolutely wanted to visit before going to the museum after reading all the wonderful reviews. However I think that the morning is not the best time to visit, when we arrived there was no one and we had to wait for quite a long time for someone to come help us. And a lot of things on the menu that attracted us in the first place (all the cakes and some drinks) were not available in the morning. The young lady helping us didn’t look very happy to take our order, we felt quite awkward ordering more things as she looked annoyed having to prepare things for us. So that didn’t make us feel very confortable and we didn’t linger as long as we would have otherwise. A bit later the owner came by to say hi with a big smile, being very welcoming, so I completely understand all the good reviews on the service as the owner is really...

One of the highlights of our visit to the Leymebamba area. A real gem that you might easily miss if not paying attention to the roadside sign. One of the best chicken sandwiches we had, home-made fruitbars, and the team made of the herbs fresh from the garden. We came here every day for lunch/snack after explorations in the area. The beautiful garden setting attracted not only us humans but also the...
