Hawaii Hotel & Suites — Hotel in Lima Metropolitan Area

To previous customers who gave only 1 or 2 stars: I hate when people use a cheap hotel and then give one star because it was a cheap hotel. I paid S/ 40 per day. Guest room areas are quiet. Free parking (parking lot - not garage - immediately next to reception - in constant view of the reception desk). Reception open 24 hours. Very helpful porter (bell hop, bell boy) who will help you with anything you need even at 2am. Employees helpful. Antony is great. Everyone is great. There is a store only 100 feet away where you can buy water, shampoo, etc. Wi-Fi. Cable TV with many movie channels including Disney and many others. Not perfect. There were some problems. They offered another room that I might like better . But I stayed in my first room where the bathroom sink water did not work unless I turned on the shower water first. I have to give five stars because it is cheap and employees are very helpful...answer the phone immediately when I call and always available to help. I saw an employee spend the whole day meticulously cleaning the reception area. Employees offer to help even when not requested. An employee requested that I show him my room key for security purposes. So they watch carefully to protect guests from people who might have no reason to be on the property. The other rooms they offered had no water problem like the problem in my room. But there is nearly no rain in Peru and moderate temperatures all year long. So windows are optional and the other rooms had missing windows. The missing windows were near the top of the wall..high off the ground. But I still prefer a water problem over having a window missing. And I could have paid for a bigger, better room. But I wanted the cheapest one. Shower water was not hot sometimes. In a safer part of the area. On the main street with traffic sounds all the time. Might not be the best if you are a light sleeper...or bring ear plugs. Bed and pillows were firm. I like a firm bed but not firm pillows. You might need to use a piece of clothes as a pillow. Tile floor. Concrete construction. None of those strange smells you have in hotels with carpet. No bugs. Restaurant on first floor open Monday through Friday 6:30am-8pm, Saturday : closes at about 5pm. The restaurant will microwave your water or food upon request for 1 Sol. Fan offered upon request. There are about 10 other hotels within 100 feet radius that advertise cheaper rates of S 15, S 20....but they rent rooms by the hour. There are other nicer hotels that are within 100 feet that cost more and have smaller rooms but are not on the main street and are on quietier streets with no parking. There are 10 restaurants with 100 feet, barber shop/hair salon, internet cafe, pharmacies,...

Booked this hotel based on the web site. It looked OK on the web. Upon arrival, everything about the place is dingy, there was a water all over the bathroom floor, it was the kind of place where the thought of lying on the bed makes you cringe. The worst is that above the windows there are louvers to the outside that lets all the traffic noise from the nearby busy intersection into the room. Heavy trucks starting and stopping and non-stop horns blaring all night. It is like you are trying to sleep while laying in the middle of the intersection. The noise insulation to adjacent rooms was minimal also. There was supposed to be breakfast but when we went looking for it we couldn't even find any place where it could be served. Lesson learned - always check some online reviews no matter how good the place...

Por una cuestión de comodidad y cercanía al aeropuerto, decidimos pasar la noche el la suite. Llegamos, estaba ocupada, nos trasladaron a una habitación normal. La cama dura, el baño tenia filtraciones y estaba inundado y eso no era todo. El ruido se colaba por la ventana, que al verla nos dimos cuenta que los vidrios no eran completos y dejaban a la mitad abierto al exterior. Pesimo, pensamos que quiza seria la habitacion el problema, asi que fuimos a ver la suite. Nos cobraban mas que la anterior, la verla, vidrios rotos, baño no muy higienico, misma cama dura y en mal estado las paredes. Nos fuimos y...
