Hotel Ferrua — Hotel in Lima Metropolitan Area

If I could give this place a zero, I would.||||I first started visiting this place in March 2003. Back then it was a 3 star place, clean, in good condition and well run. I last visited in 2005. How things have changed.||||I came to Peru the end of March to volunteer. Since I had stayed here before, I flew into Lima and stayed for a night before heading out to the provencia. I received a room for the overnight that was located over the kitchen. The odor was of a wet smelly mop but because it was semana santa, I figured it was the last room in the place. I did note the moldy shower, chipped, peeling paint on the walls, and stained carpets. The place was filthy but I still thought it was one of the last rooms and that the second floor was under construction or rehab.||||I came back this past week and stayed on the 5th floor. I had to argue with the unfriendly lady at the front to get a room with a queen sized bed. She reluctantly gave me a room on the 5th floor.||||Absolutely filthy room. Dirty carpet with ground in gum, moldy showers, peeling/chipping paint. That was the best of it.||||The noise from the room with the jacuzzi started soon enough. The rumbling noise from above at all hours is unbearable. Last night the orgy party began in the jacuzzi at 3am.||||The cleaning crew cleans whenever they feel like. They will start cleaning rooms after midnight as last night and the morning crew will start with the noise at 730am. I cannot believe that the owner or employees are really this stupid.||||The owner by the way is a peruvian who has lived in the USA. Viajo con relativa frecuencia a Lima, y hasta ahora no encuentro un hotel que satisfaga plenamente mis requerimientos como turista. Conocimos éste hotel en mayo del 2013 y, sin ser muy bueno, nos dio una aceptable imagen; es por ello que preferimos alojarnos aquí, que buscar nuevamente otra opción. Hay un dicho que dice "es preferible malo conocido que bueno por conocer". Aunque éste hotel malo, malo no es, de verdad.||||El sitio donde está ubicado es estratégico, ya que se encuentra relativamente cerca del Centro Histórico de Lima, y no muy lejos del área comercial y bancaria de ésta ciudad. También es de agradecer el que la avenida que pasa por sus puertas no sea demasiado concurrida, lo que permite que no haya mucho ruido producido por los vehículos. También el barrio que lo rodea se lo siente tranquilo y seguro; además, tiene servicio de cochera o garage, que en mi caso personal, es indispensable. ||||Las instalaciones internas están más o menos acorde al precio que nos cobran, aunque si he estado en otros hoteles de otras ciudades que por menor precio nos ofrecen algo similar y hasta mejor. Las habitaciones son amplias, alfombradas, con baño privado y duchas de agua caliente (no puede ser de otra manera), y televisión por cable, aunque los acabados sean muy "flojitos", ya que no le dan un buen mantenimiento. Hasta tiene ascensor, ya que el edificio es de varios pisos de altura.||||¿Cuál es la parte negativa, entonces? La pésima atención de las señoritas recepcionistas. Salvo una sola excepción (creo que el nombre de ella es Fátima), el resto, le reciben al cliente, sea turista o no, de una manera muy despótica, y siempre se encuentran resolviendo cualquier otro problema, de manera personal o por teléfono, y no nos dan la importancia que nos merecemos; a la final, somos nosotros los que pagamos el dinero que se nos cobra, y que sirve para que ellas ganen su sueldo. Ojo, propietarios, ahí tienen una tarea importantísima por resolver.||||Otro punto negativo es el llamado Desayuno de cortesía, que de cortés no tiene nada. Resulta que éste no está incluido en el costo de la habitación, y como lo dan "de cortesía", lo hacen sentir, (aún delante de los demás comensales y de una manera incómoda para el cliente) que nos lo dan porque no queda más. No se tiene ninguna alternativa más que agua de manzanilla, pan y jugo; y cuando uno, solicita café " en agua", se nos niega, indicando que esa opción no está considerada. Y el tiempo que se toman en servirte.....||||Ojalá la próxima vez que utilice éstos servicios, éste hotel haya mejorado y quien suscribe pueda dar una...

This was out of the city and so I would not stay here if you want to explore. It is very cheap though so good for a one night stay.||||The room was big, dirty carpet and linen.
