El Molino Hotel y Restaurante — Hotel in Lunahuaná

This is a lovely hotel in a gorgeous location. It's right on the river with the rooms built into a hillside so they all have a view and little deck area. There are upper and lower rooms, but all seem equally well situated. There's a large pool and kiddie pool with loungers and umbrellas, an outdoor eating area with wood-stove for pizzas, and small gym with treadmill, bike, and stairmaster facing the river. Alongside the pool there's a billiards table, foozball, and some other games. You can ring the bell and get drinks by the pool. The restaurant also offers room service.||||In addition to its perfect setting (beautiful and close to town) I was impressed with the staff. They never stopped working! The place is absolutely spotless and everyone was very friendly. The rooms are small but well equipped for a short stay. The bathroom was huge and with a crisp modern feel. For the shower, you activate the hot water about 10 minutes ahead of time. This worked fine and I like any little attempts by a hotel to make things more "eco-friendly". ||||We ate at the restaurant for most meals. The breakfast (included in the room price) was hearty and delicious. You can choose from three options or get the "campesino" for an extra 7 soles which was sweet potatoes, tamale, and fried pork. We loved the tamale, so we'd pay a bit extra for one on the side with our eggs. The fresh juices were great, too.||||I'd also highly recommend the salads: there's one with chicken and caramelized pecans and another one with lots of fresh veggies and chicken, both come with a homemade dressing that's delicious. There are lots of classic Peruvian choices for dinner. I didn't care for the camerones (shrimp) dishes because they are river shrimp so they had a strange taste, but maybe I'm just not used to that type of shrimp. My kids loved the lomo saltado and chicken milanese (like a schnitzel).||||Another bonus is that the hotel will arrange any of the adventures you want to try ahead of time. We did the rafting (so fun) and the 4-wheeling (kind of underwhelming) with the Lunahuana Rafting company. They came right to the hotel to pick us up and the rafting ended right at the hotel's bank on the river (very convenient since you come back soaking wet). ||||I'd recommend this hotel as the first choice to anyone visiting Lunahana. Una decepción, es una lástima que el hotel sea tan nuevo, bonito y con tan bellas vistas mientras la atención es tan pésima. En primer lugar fuimos desde Lima y en el camino llamamos para hacer el check in, nos dijeron que era imposible hacerla a las 14:00 que tenia que ser a las 15:00 a lo que aceptamos, cuando llegamos a las 15:05 nos dicen que la habitación no estaría lista hasta las 16:30 y que teníamos que esperar, además que al día siguiente teníamos que marchar como todos a las 12:00 en lugar de retrasarnos al menos esas dos horas y media que estábamos perdiendo por “culpa del hotel”, la única solución que nos dieron es darnos una habitación superior pero pagando la diferencia, como el hotel era tan bonito decidimos esperar y comer en su restaurante (lo que pagamos fue más caro que la diferencia que había entre habitaciones), una vez que entramos en la habitación nos dicen ya que pedimos el libro de reclamaciones nos dicen que nos ofrecen dos tragos de cortesía o nos retrasaban 1 hora la salida el día siguiente, pero esto no fue lo peor, más tarde como a las 18:00 estaba yendo a recepción y el perro del hotel y un perro del vecino del hotel que estaban sin bozal sin yo hacerles absolutamente nada me atacaron por la espalda haciéndome heridas en el brazo y la pierna, afortunadamente soy un hombre alto y fuerte porque donde llegan a coger un niño a saber lo que hubiera pasado, la recepcionista en ese momento me atiende y me limpia las heridas mientras el administrador quería llevarme a la posta, yo exigí que me trajeran a un médico hasta el hotel, me trajeron una enfermera que me termino de curar las heridas y me puso una gaza y una inyección para la hinchazón del brazo, me dice que no puedo beber alcohol no puedo mojar la herida en fin no puedo hacer nada en esa noche, vuelvo a la habitación y me duermo porque la inyección me da cansancio y mareos en lugar de disfrutar de las piscinas o las instalaciones del hotel. Al día siguiente cuando fui a la recepción me encontré de frente otra vez con el perro suelto y sin bozal lo que me pareció una negligencia por parte del personal del hotel, es verdad que ya no me ataco pero volví a vivir un momento desagradable. Llego la hora de irnos y aunque el hotel se preocupó por mi estado visitándome una vez por la noche y me ofreció una sopa por la noche que no acepté porque estaba sin ganas de nada y nos invitaron un chicharrón de desayuno y dos cocktail antes de marchar me pareció muy injusto que solo me descontaran 100 soles de lo que se pago por la invitación cuando me fastidiaron mi paseo y mi fin de semana porque prácticamente no pude hacer ni disfrutar del hotel y gaste mi gasolina y mi tiempo desde lima solo para ir a dormir adolorido. El hotel mínimo debió indemnizar la noche del hotel más mis gastos de desplazamiento por el disgusto, no los denuncié porque vivo en España y desgraciadamente hubiera sido un proceso largo al que no podía estar presente pero mal muy muy mal, igualmente hemos puesto una reclamación a indecopi y espero se...

We were lucky to Chek in on Monday. So we were the only guests in the whole hotel. Fortunately the restaurant didn't close, as in other hotels on workdays. The criolla soup was very delicious. But we found a piece of soft plastic in the sandwich in the morning))

The mountain river is so close, that this white noise helps to relax and sleep better. There were no music, what we appreciated most

What I liked most is a very clean swimming pool. At 3 pm it was rather warm for daughter. And she could also run barefoot on the fresh green lawn.

In the evening we could lie down on the round sofa outside and to listen to river.

The only minus is the small room for three. But we had the terrace where we spent most of the time.
